Avengers: Endgame TV Spot – Every Avenger’s Shadow Identified

The new Avengers: Endgame TV Spot packed a whole lot in just 30 seconds. I mean it should probably be a record for how many frames they were actually able to put in with so little time at their hands. The spot started with 10 different frames focusing on all the heroes that died in the movie. Then came the logo, and to follow that, every piece of footage that we got was totally fresh. And there actually were so many more fast-paced scenes to make up the limitation of time. This wasn’t the case with the Infinity War TV Spot as that was barely an extension of the first trailer & took its time for showing various scenes.

In the Avengers: Endgame spot, scenes kept flowing one after the other, and every one of those begged for us to ask questions. Each of those scenes added meaning to the whole plot of the film and that is why this TV Spot was probably the best of all that we have seen Marvel put out since forever (2010). This spot did not practically give anything away, but it still managed to give us so much. It has people talking about it and that is what Marvel would have wanted.

By now even the MCU fans are aware of the typical Marvel trickery that runs with these films. We are misled and misdirected on a regular basis for keeping these movies spoiler-free until we watch them in the theatres. For this very purpose, Marvel usually edits scenes from their trailers from what they actually are. In the Avengers: Endgame Big (mediocre) Game Spot, we saw the same thing happen in the scenes where 4 of the Avengers accumulate in the lawn, and when they walk in a line at the very end of the spot, where we are deliberately shown shadow Avengers.

Whether or not anyone is missing from this particular shot, is a topic for later, but so far many people haven’t been able to figure out that who all are present in this shot. The first one is obviously Cap as he is the leader and the Shield gives it away. Following him is Thor, who has a surprisingly leaner physique for a guy his size. Then the body figure apparently makes Black Widow to be the next one in line. Rocket is a given. Following these 4 members was a mystery (I don’t know why!) for some people. This mystery has been solved by MCU Tweets:

So next in line is Ant-Man, and it really was easy give away as we see Ant-Man suiting up with War Machine previously in the spot, and it was confirmed by that moment that Scott did appear at the front door of the Avengers in the present times. Following him after an awkward gap is War Machine in his new suit, and the next head we see so weirdly close to him is of Bruce Banner.

Now let’s come to the part of who could be missing from this trailer. Black Widow visits Ronin when she has longer hair, and that will happen after the time leap happens. Here Nat has shorter hair, so Ronin is out of the question. The gap between Ant-Man and War Machine is so big that it could fit in Hulk as well. But since this scene does take place fairly in the first act of the movie, we cannot expect for Banner to resolve his Hulk conundrum so soon. So, Marvel is not tricking us by putting Banner at the end as he is really there and Hulk is out of the question.

These gaps that we see could actually take in Iron Man and Nebula. We know that they are coming back from space, and Rocket is believed to have helped in getting them back. So if he is present here, then it is possible that both of those Titan survivors could have returned as well. So, for all we know, Tony could be leading the line ahead of Cap, and Nebula could be there after Ant-Man. Or we can also consider the fact that we are way in over our heads and all this is just bull, and there’s no one missing!

Avengers: Endgame releases on April 26.
