Captain Marvel comes out in just 2 months of time, and while we do have some question about the plot of the film, there’s a lot that we know is going to be a part of the movie that leads us directly into Avengers: Endgame. Amongst everything, the most we know about are the characters that are going to appear. And just now, we can add 3 more to the list as Supreme Intelligence has been confirmed to exist in Captain Marvel.
Coming from the action figures of Marvel Legends series, we not only get the confirmation to the character of Jude Law, i.e. Yon Rogg and not Mar-Vell, there is also a description the reveals Supreme Intelligence to be playing a significant role in the film. The description of the Yon Rogg Box of Marvel Legends reads – “Leader of the Starforce team, Yon-Rogg is a hero among the Kree and a key asset to the Supreme Intelligence in the war against the Skrulls.”
Courtesy of Twitter user @VersionAnaloga, we not only get this key info about Yon Rogg and Supreme Intelligence but also get to know that there are two more characters by the names of Genis-Vell and Gray Gargoyle. Here’s what the Spanish on the tweets translates to:
“As we can see, a total of six figures will be released for the film, two by Carol and then one by Nick Fury, Talos and Yon-Rogg; and on the margin we have those who seem to be Genis-Vell and Gray Gargoyle”
“The boxes of Marvel Legends figures hit the Internet to give us another look at the characters of Captain Marvel This is the same box that in the past gave clues about the role played by Jude Law, which on this occasion is said to be Yon Rogg.”
There has always been confusion as to who Jude Law is playing, as it was always assumed that he’d be playing Mar-Vell. But as it turns out, that’s not the case, and the big reveal that the film was planning to make has been spoiled by these merchandise boxes. So, we know that instead of a hero, Law will turn out to be a villain in the film.
But as for Supreme Intelligence, we only have a little clue as to who could be playing the character. Annette Bening has a mystery role in the film and that is suspected to be Supreme Intelligence. For non-comic book nerds, Supreme Intelligence is the leader of the Kree Empire which is a large sentient head composed of the greatest minds to ever be a part of the race. This composition of brains turns into an organic being which is kept on Hala.
While Bening is playing a live-action character, it is believed that she could actually be a living embodiment of the big intelligent head, so that way the Supreme Intelligence gets a more believable on screen presence. But it could be something totally different. Here’s what Annette Bening had to say about her role:
“I can’t give anything away. No, in fact, I need to call them again and they have to tell me exactly what it is that I can’t say. All I can tell you is that it is as much fun as you would imagine it could be. At least it was for me. It was so much fun, and I can’t tell you why because then it would give something away. It was like when you’re a little kid and you imagine what it would be like to be in a superhero movie, that’s what it was like. Seriously. It was fun.”
Whether or not Bening is going to play Supreme Intelligence is not known yet, but at least we know that this Kree Aspect does exist in the film, and things do point to everything suggested above. Captain Marvel comes out on March 8. Here’s the official Synopsis:
“The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races,” the synopsis reads. “Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
