Avengers: Endgame Theory Suggests a Surprising Savior for Ant-Man
There are 3 possibilities from where Avengers: Endgame could begin. The first and most likely possibility is that it would directly address the aftermath of the Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. The second likely scenario could show us how Ant-Man escapes the Quantum Realm, although a fair bit of story might have to be flourished for that. The third aspect could be Captain Marvel. Carol could begin things continuing either from where Infinity War teased her, or probably where her own solo film ends.
Whether or not Endgame begins with the shot of Ant-Man stuck in the Quantum Realm, we know that he will surely escape the dimension and probably land a few days/weeks/months in the future. That is the time jump he is going to make introducing time travel in the MCU for the first time. But how will he escape the Quantum Realm? Theories have suggested that Bill Foster could help him since he was in there collecting Quantum Energy for Ghost. Or perhaps a far-fetched one proposes that Captain Marvel will help out in this scenario since there are going to be Quantum Realm aspects in that movie as well.
But the most probable escape that Scott Lang will make is through a time vortex. No other individual is going to be involved as he will probably get sucked into a Time Vortex that Janet Van Dyne warned him about. While this is the most sensible explanation, a new theory on Reddit, however, has an alternative theory that may not seem particularly likely, but could leave you wishing it was true anyway:
“All theories are a lie, in fact Luis will look for the ant man on the terrace, he will take orders from Scott from within the quantum realm, and after a while get him out of there. After that, Luis will tell the story of the state of Thanos in that special way.”
We need some kind of narration from Luis, in Avengers: Endgame. The movie is going to be pretty dark, and Luis being the savior of Scott and later narrating that to someone could add the humor that Endgame might need in the beginning. But still, we know that this is going to remain an unfulfilled wish. Luis might not even get an appearance in the film, even though it is his Van that Scott is stuck in.
So far, you could bet on the Time Vortex theory as that makes total sense looking at the trailer, and even the director of the two Ant-Man movies, Peyton Reed has hinted that Time Vortexes could come into play. Even though we might not know for sure about the other aspects of the movie, this little escape and Scott might have been guessed correctly.
Perhaps the next trailer(s) could give us more hints upon that. It really has to be something very unpredictable. Talking about that, here’s what the writers of the film had to say about the unexpectedness of the film:
“Christopher Markus – [Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is…Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief.
Stephen McFeely – Put it this way, I think [Infinity War] is a fairly mature movie for a blockbuster. It’s got a lot of fun in it, obviously, but boy, it gets very mature. The second one is also mature. We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested. It’s by the same studio, the same filmmaking team. They were written at the same time, shot at the same time. They’re clearly connected, but they are definitely two different movies, one of which is dependent on what happened previous.”
Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26. Here’s the official Synopsis of the movie:
“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
