Directed by K Asif, the movie put forward one of the best performances of Madhubala and Dilip Kumar. The movie’s soundtrack with songs like ‘Jab Pyaar Kia to Darna Kya?’ are still very popular. The movie wonderfully depicted the royal Mughal era and the love between Akbar’s son, Prince Salim and the servant Anarkali. This romantic tragedy is a must watch for everyone.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker Jodha Akbar is an epic historical Indian drama film. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai and Sonu Sood in lead roles. The story of the film depicts the romance between the Mughal Emperor Akbar and the Hindu Princess Jodhabai.
This flick is the most famous film adaptation of the 1917 Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Devdas. It follows the story of Devdas, a wealthy law graduate who returns from London to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro. The rejection of this marriage by his own family triggers his descent into alcohol, ultimately leading to his emotional decline and him seeking refuge with a courtesan Chandramukhi. The ensemble cast of the film included Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff. The film was screened at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival and was rewarded a lot of national awards along with the most Filmfare Awards any film had won at the time
5. The Legend of Bhagat Singh
The Legend of Bhagat Singh was a tale about the historical freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The man who happily sacrificed his life for the country. Ajay Devgn portrayed the role of the legendary freedom fighter in the movie. The role of his companions Sukhdev was played by Sushant Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad was played by Akhilendra Mishra. The two along with Ajay did an excellent job in their roles.
This 1982 historical drama film based on the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the leader of India’s non-violent independence movement against the British colonial rule in India. The film was screened retrospectively on 12 August 2016 as the Opening Film at the Independence Day Film Festival. It was released in both India and UK.

The film used its era mainly for the setting as the original story and had nothing to do with Bengal in the 50s. The movie’s storyline is Loosely based on the historical poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. It stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, a Rajput queen is known for her beauty, who’s the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor and Sultan Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, who hears about her beauty, forms an obsessive love for her and attacks her kingdom to claim her. is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The critics and the audience praised the visuals, the cinematography and Singh’s portrayal of Khilji.
