In the latest trailer of Runaways Season 2, it has been revealed that there are going to be a lot of superpowers in the hands of children, with some major conspiracies coming up in this one. Also, we will see Parents vs. Kids in this Hulu series season 2. But, it seems like this season we are going to see some connection of these heroes with Doctor Strange. We all know that in the first season of this famous Hulu series, we have seen a lot of great connections but it seems like this time we are going to have something straight to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we in the trailer a tease has been shared by the makers of the show. Well, in order to know the connection first we have to break down all the pieces of the story and in order to do that, we have to start it from the top.
So, I’m sure that eagle-eyed Marvel fans and lovers of this show will surely notice at 1:37 in the trailer, when we see Nico Minoru using a ‘Staff of One’ because of some consequences.
And in the trailer, another thing to notice is Minoru’s eyes and her skin which seem to have the same kind of cracks we have seen in the movie Doctor Strange, when the villain of the movie Kaecilius suffers from the same kind of effect, and a byproduct of his bad deeds with the vicious Dark Dimension.
In the movie Doctor Strange, we saw that the motive which Kaecilius carried in the whole movie was to harness the power of the strong but deadly Dark dimension and transfer it across the world and in its exchange he wanted powers from arguably the biggest enemy of Doctor Strange, Dormammu.
So, on the other side, as we all have seen in the first season of Runaways that the Staff of One is a magical thing and is a piece of technology which has been developed by Wizard, a company run by Tino Minoru, who is the mother of Nico.
Also, we know from the first season that the Staff can be sued by only Nico and her mother because the Staff reads their DNA. Tina Minoru is one of the many faithful and loyal followers of the Ancient One in the movie Doctor Strange but we haven’t seen her in the movie except her name in the credits. Also, the showrunner Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have stated that they’re ignoring this little piece of their big cannon in order to tell their story.
But, fans of Doctor Strange are really curious and also excited at the same time as Nico’s eyes are signalling towards the possibility that she is going to follow in the footsteps of Kaecilius and if it so, then there are chances that we are going to see a really interesting thing this season as we all know that the mother of Nico is the follower of Ancient One and when she’ll know that her own daughter is getting into things like this then it is going to be really heartbreaking for her but amazing for the show.
Also, there are chances that Nico will ask questions about the origin of Staff and Tina has to tell her the real origin of the Staff which states that the Staff is a magical artifact and not what she has told her daughter in order to stop her from getting into the machinations of Dormammu. So, we can clearly see that there are a lot coming in Runaways Season 2.
