It’s true that one of the worst villains of Marvel is in Christian Bale’s Vice. Well, we all know that the movie is based on the administration of George W. Bush and is directed and written by Adam McKay. But, the biographical-drama has an MCU villain in it and it’s weird and cool.
Isn’t it strange to hear, when people went into the theaters in order to see the movie ‘Vice’ and got in front of them a very popular and a bad villain from the archives of Marvel? The movie is quite political and this news has come as a big surprise and shock both.
Well, the character they have chosen is quite astonishingly great as they’re featuring ‘The Devourer of Worlds -Galactus’ in the movie and the idea was obviously of Adam McKay and the man is no stranger to these characters and the world of superheroes or supervillains.
In a quick scene, none other than Jesse Plemons of Friday Night Lights is narrating the events of Bush administration as to what it was like and also the working in his reign. Somewhere in between that narration, you’re going to have this villain pop up at your theater screens.
Well, as I’ve said earlier that the man is no stranger to things like this because he has been part of Marvel Studios as he was in the writing team of two MCU movies, Ant-Man and the sequel of that movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp. So, we can understand the level of interest he has in the world of superheroes.
Also, the talk from the inside is that there was a chance when McKay was almost on the edge of directing Ant-Man when it was Edgar Wright who left the direction of the film. But, Marvel found Peyton Reed which they thought will be a better choice for the role of the director.
But, Adam McKay was still happy and interested in his role in the making of that blockbuster and an amazing movie. But, there are chances that we will be able to see McKay directing an MCU movie because he is one of the directors who are interested in the projects of Marvel.
But, what I’m thinking here is the fact that he used his good connections with Marvel quite perfectly as he and we all know that the hype these characters can get at this point, on the internet. Putting a small second of Galactus in the movie is doing a quite tremendous job in the advertisement for the movie.
Because one thing is clear that the two highest grossing movies of 2018 were Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther. So, I think if there’s still someone out there thinking that the fanbase of this genre only has kids then he’s running with the speed of Flash from the truth.
There are also reports that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to be the project Marvel Studios is really looking forward to as it is the way with which they can bring characters like Silver Surfer, Galactus, Quasar, and many others who can meet with the Guardians in space.
On top of this, it is none other than McKay who is quite ready to take the job because the man seems to be the most impressed with Marvel Studios on the planet. And his immense love for Marvel can surely get him one chance to show what he can. The man was recently present in a podcast, Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast in which he talked about the chances and his interest in Marvel projects. He said,
“We’ve talked a little bit. We were kicking around the idea of the Inhumans at one point. We’re always kind of talking. I think Feige is just the greatest and what they’re doing is amazing.”
“When I was in the fourth or 5th grade I got into Nova of all people, and I think they’re kicking around a Nova idea now too,” McKay added. “But Silver Surfer man, that’s the one I want to do. I would do anything to do Silver Surfer because visually that would just be…You could do what the Wachowskis did with Speed Racer, with the Silver Surfer.”
“At the same time, there’s a great emotional story in there man,” McKay added. “Where a guy has to make the choice to save his planet…you know Norrin Rad has to save his planet…that, that would be the one. But I think Fox has the rights to that one…”
So, if you go to watch the movie ‘Vice’ then do open your eyes wide to see the Galactus. But, I’ll advise you personally to go and watch this amazing movie with Christian Bale again setting new bars for other stars.
