‘Age of Ultron’ Theory Confirms Original Avengers Death in ‘Endgame’

With the release of the Avengers: Endgame trailer, Marvel Studios has opened the Pandora’s Box of fan theories for the Marvel fans. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is home to a plethora of heroes and villains and boasts of a fan base that is unrivaled in numbers in Hollywood. These fans have been on overdrive ever since they saw the Endgame trailer.

One of the many fan theories surrounding the trailer was that the death parade has not stopped. There will be more death and many of the heroes that survived the Thanos Snap in Infinity War will be again caught in the crossfire. But who!!! Is it Tony Stark? Is it Captain America that will be the first casualty? Maybe the Hulk!! The possibilities are endless and the fans are trying to cover up every loose end with theories that range from truly logical to downright ridiculous.

To that end, we are proud to present you a theory that hovers somewhere around the former. This theory could finally give us the answer to the question of which hero might swim the river Styx in Avengers: Endgame.

Original Avengers Death in Endgame

The theories that are currently in vogue in the depths of the fan base network are – the one scenario Doctor Strange saw in Avengers: Infinity War where the Avengers win, Ant-Man and the Quantum Realm playing a big role in Endgame to bring back the fallen comrades of the Avengers as well as Tony Stark creating his own time machine with the help of Rocket and Captain Marvel to travel back in time and right the wrongs of the Mad Titan. But this theory might be the mother-lode. And to be frank, it actually makes a lot of sense once you think about it for a second.  But what is this theory?

Let us cut to the chase.

Original Avengers Death in Endgame

This fan theory actually takes us back to the events of the second Avengers movie titled Avengers: Age of Ultron. This movie actually contains some data regarding the hero who will make the mutilate sacrifice and save the universe from mass extinction. To be even more precise, there is one specific moment in Avengers: Age of Ultron that holds the key to answering the greatest question still unanswered by the Marvel Movie Machine.

Original Avengers Death in Endgame

In Age of Ultron, the big bad wolf of the movie aka Ultron is a rogue Artificial Intelligence bent on subduing humanity and world domination. The Avengers – consisting then of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow with the additional forces of the Vision, Scarlet Witch and the not so dead Quicksilver help stop Ultron from completing his plans.

But midway through the battle of Sokovia, when things are truly dire and the Earth’s mightiest heroes are on the verge of defeat, Tony says something that might be noteworthy.

When Ultron has nearly won the battle after cornering the Avengers to the point of no return, Tony Stark reminds every one of a similar situation they faced in the first Avengers movie in the Battle of New York, where a hostile alien armada almost threatened the sanctity of the planet and they were also backed up into a corner like this.

Tony refers to the then current situation as “The Endgame”. When he asks Captain America, the de facto leader of the Avengers about their next course of action, Cap calmly replies by simply saying “Together”. When Tony Stark asks Cap about the possibility of them losing the battle, Cap again replies that they will do that “Together” too.

This could mean the one thing that everyone feared. And we are even scared of saying it out loud. Marvel is known to put in elements in their movies that are harbingers of events about to happen in their future timeline. When the Infinity Gauntlet appeared in Thor (2011), nobody thought that this was more than just an Easter egg and the Infinity Gauntlet storyline was too big of an arc for the MCU.

But Marvel still managed to pull it off and wow the audience. What Marvel did with Thor and Avengers: Infinity War could be the same as what Marvel is doing right now with Age of Ultron and Endgame. What we are trying to say is that no matter how hard you shake your head after reading this theory, there is a high chance that this might be happening. If you are still not sure what we mean.

Let us break it down for you in even simpler terms.

Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Thor – the founding members of the Avengers – will all die in Avengers: Endgame. They will sacrifice their lives to pave way for a newer generation of heroes to become the Earth’s mightiest heroes after they give up their lives to destroy the threat that threatens the very existence of the cosmos.

Foreshadowing folks!! This is some next level foreshadowing if you ask us. The Chitauri Invasion in The Avengers of 2012 was directly responsible for starting a chain reaction of events that led to the universal genocide in Infinity War.

Infinity War Infinity Stone

All things are somehow connected in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have always scratched their heads in confusion when thinking about the final conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. After killing off major heroes in Infinity war, we know that Marvel is capable of letting go of their biggest cash cows just for the sake of making the audience go WTF. They did it once. They can surely do it again.

The Avengers’ founding members and the original Earth’s mightiest heroes have been around in the MCU since far too long now. It is about time their stories come full circle. Provided the fact that Tony and Steve are not exactly on speaking terms after Civil War, both titular heroes coming together for one final stand against the greatest enemy they have ever faced is not only fitting but divinely poetic.

Avengers: Endgame Theory Tony Stark

If Cap and Tony come together, it will be the last time you see them joining hands as they mend their fractured bond and do what must be done. And what must be done is both laying down their lives in the line of duty to give Earth and millions of planets in the whole wide universe, another chance.

There is another theory though. This one actually is tied down to the Avengers: Endgame trailer itself. Although the death ratio, according to this theory, would be less but it will still be excruciatingly painful to watch for the Marvel fans.

Avengers: Endgame Captain America

This theory claims that it is Captain America that will choose to sacrifice his life to end the battle against Thanos. The trailer showed Steve looking at the picture of Peggy. This might be Marvel’s way of subtly implying that Captain America might be going on one final suicide mission to save everyone…again. And this time, he is going back to the love of his life, Peggy Carter, meaning both will meet again in the afterlife for a final happily ever after.

Of course, these are all theories so we suggest you hold on to your tissue rolls. You are free to choose the worth of these theories according to your preference. It is the Avengers: Endgame movie that can actually give us a definite answer when it releases on the 26th of April 2019.

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.

What do you think about the theory? Do you really think the original Avengers members are going to sacrifice themselves to save everyone? Don’t know about the theory’s legitimacy but it sure will make up for an interesting piece of conversation. Stay tuned for further updates.
