John Cena To Replace Chris Evans As Captain America In The MCU!

There were only a few actors that were perfectly tailor-made to portray one particular role. Arnold Schwarzenegger for Terminator, Christopher Reeves for Superman, Heath Ledger for the Joker, Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone, RDJ for Iron Man and Chris Evans for Captain America are some that come to mind. That list is short but Chris Evans justifiably would be in the top 5 of that. He has flawlessly essayed the role of the Super Soldier and leader of the Earth’s mightiest heroes in the MCU since 10 long years. And he has decided to exit the MCU. In his absence, a vacuum has been created that Marvel Studios intends to fulfill with another well-known celebrity. And it is none other than the WWE Superstar John Cena!

Chris Evans’ contract with Marvel Studios will come to an end after the release of Avengers 4. Repeated questions about whether he intends to retire or come back to the MCU have been to waste. Evans has been unusually tight-lipped. There has to be a Captain America within the MCU.

So if Chris Evans refuses to essay that role anytime soon, then Marvel would have to look out for other options. And out of the plethora of young and brewing talent found in the movie making industry, Marvel decided to take the road not taken and choose a wrestling superstar to play the part. Out of the box thinking at its finest, ladies and gentlemen!!

(That was sarcasm if you knuckleheads still did not get it.)

John Cena recently posted a mysterious picture on his Instagram account. It showed an enigmatic image of Captain America’ broken shield at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Does this mean it will be John Cena next to cover himself up in the red, white and blue costume and gallivant across the MCU as the new hope of the world?

We have to mention the fact that Cena has done such stunts in the past. He also posted a similar image when the Watchmen series was announced by HBO. Maybe he is just trying to rile up the fans and provide himself with public support for an upcoming audition for the role? Who knows?!?! Hollywood is a strange little place.

Here is the Instagram post we are talking about:

John Cena is a true patriot and a true believer in the American Dream. He is already draped in the star spangled banner most of the tme. He has also done movies like the Marine in the past so we know he can be trusted to do the action sequences and stunts if need be. But what is odd is that Marvel chose a wrestler for a role that is better suited for an actor. Maybe they were swayed by John Cena’s motto – Honour. Loyalty. Respect!!

If you thought it would be Sam Wilson aka the Falcon or Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier who would be the successor to the mantle of Captain America, you are sorely mistaken.

They would be starring in their own series as the dynamic duo in their own TV series that will be coming to the Disney streaming service in the near future. The Shield is up for grabs and Sam and Bucky want no part in it. This leaves the field wide open for John Cena to stroll in, grab the shield and become the newest Guardian of the American Dream.

Captain America appeared last in Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
