New Flash Theory States Cicada’s Dagger is Actually an Artificial Metahuman

The latest season of The Flash has revealed to the Flash fans the newest, baddest Big Bad Wolf in town. Cicada is a guy with a troubled past, a mysterious dagger shaped weapon in his hand and an even more enigmatic conviction. We know his history now ever since the show showed us what it is. This is the first time that a CW television superhero show has laid bare the entire backstory of a villain. Every villain that was featured in the Flash – Savitar, Zoom, the Thinker and even Reverse Flash – were ensured to have most of their origin stories secret. It was only during the course of the show that the villains’ tale would be revealed piece by piece. With Cicada, The Flash has decided to go the unconventional way which has thrown the viewers’ completely off guard. But an important detail about the guy might already be out but we were just too dumb enough to notice it until now. Presenting – New Flash Theory states Cicada’s dagger is actually an artificial metahuman!!!

Cicada – What we know about the villain up until now

Flash Theory Cicada

The guy can fly, throw his dagger and call it back like Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Mjolnir and he can even use the dagger to inhibit the powers of other meta-humans. But who is Cicada really? He is a grieving man and a father who visits his sick daughter in the hospital daily.

Flash Theory Cicada

We have to give credits to the showrunners of the show for trying to introduce a villain that was relatable to the audience and with a moral compass that does not exactly point north or south, meaning he is neither a good guy nor an evil being. Cicada is still a bland villain when he puts up that mask though.

Flash Theory Cicada

Or is it? Whenever the Flash introduces a villain, there is always a twist that the fans forget to get until the very last moment. Cicada might be that theory’s latest example.

Flash Theory Cicada

Cicada is a typical villain – he wants to kill all the meta-humans that were born on the dreadful day when the particle accelerator exploded right at Central City’s face. Cicada has a reason for it as well. And the methods, tactics, and weapons employed for his one-man crusade would be the key to solving what it actually is.

The Dagger is Meta-Tech

Flash Theory Cicada

In the latest The Flash Episode, we are introduced to a new breed of metahuman menace. The Flash goes up against a woman who can merge digital and actual realities into one, creating a pseudo-world where impossible things could happen. When the Flash finally caught her, it was revealed that it was not the human that was a meta, but her phone. And thus, the concept of Meta-Tech was born.

Flash Theory Cicada

Meta-Tech or Meta-Technology – is a theory by Team Flash which states that it is not just living and sentient beings that were affected by the Particle Accelerator explosion. Non-living objects like the said woman’s Phone as well as other things could also be affected in a similar way. All it takes is a blast of dark matter or unknown energies to transform simple objects into weapons of mass destruction.

Flash Theory Cicada

The theory is that – Cicada is not a meta-human as well. In actuality, it is the dagger which is spliced with intense dark matter energy. Somehow the dagger got spliced into Cicada’s anatomy and now it responds only to him. The dagger still needs dark matter energy to survive which it either gets by collecting it from the victims of the meta-human hunt that Cicada regularly goes on or it just siphons of life force from Cicada himself.

Flash Theory Cicada

When Cicada revealed his glowing chest wound to his daughter’s doctor, the viewers realized that this guy is not what meets the eye. The scar is a leftover mark from the day Cicada’s dagger flung itself into his chest, sealing his fate as a villain of Central City. And now he is cursed to roam the streets, searching for meta-human prey so that his dagger’s uncontrollable hunger can be satiated and the scar stops hurting him.

Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just... do things
