Death of Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi Was Fated to Happen From a Long Time Ago!

The hero of the revolution that shook an entire galaxy, the guy who defeated the greatest villain of all time singlehandedly (no pun intended), the warrior of the Force and the one true Jedi, Luke Skywalker is a legend amongst legends. He is an idol and a national pop culture icon to many who grew up watching the Star Wars movies become the behemoth it is today.

Luke Skywalker The Last Jedi

We did not see much of Mark Hamill’s avatar of the character after the Original trilogy made way to the prequel Star Wars trilogy of the late 1990s. It was only in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that we finally saw a mere glimpse of the character without which the Star Wars Universe is too empty. But J.J Abrams made us wait too long.

And when he did allow Luke Skywalker to come back to the spotlight, we realized that Luke is no longer the man he was once used to be known for. And what’s more. They killed Luke Skywalker in the next movie!!! But as it turns out, it was all part of the plan. Presenting – Death of Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi was fated to happen from a long time ago!!!

Luke Skywalker The Last Jedi

The Luke Skywalker we saw in the Last Jedi trilogy was a broken man that had lost all hope in the light side of the Force. After failing to stop the massacre of his own Padawans by his nephew Kylo Ren, Luke Skywalker cut himself from the very thing that made him a Jedi and forced himself into a life of permanent solitude in exile in a distant planet in a far-off part of the galaxy.

As a result, the resistance was left to its own devices to fight the incoming onslaught of the First Order forces that were too many in numbers and were too powerful for the Resistance who was now left leaderless and had a clear lack of firepower.

Luke Skywalker was thought to be invincible. That is not an exaggeration. Luke was actually thought to be a master at manipulating the force and thus achieve true immortality. Luke would never age and be immune to the ravages of time and tear. That was thought to be his golden fate till the end of the Star Wars Universe. So his death hit the fans quite hard and in the heart of their beliefs.

They vehemently opposed Rian Johnson’s decision to kill off the most popular character of the Star Wars universe in such a spectacular fashion while the First Order is still at large and at their strongest after Kylo Ren managed to consolidate it into a single, unbroken entity.

The Resistance no longer has the manpower or the guns to take the First Order on and they just lost Luke Skywalker as well. How bleak a picture did Rian Johnson want to paint for the good guys? After a flurry of complaints from the fan base, Lucas Film is still not agreeing to bring back Luke from the dead.

Why? Because Luke’s death was planned all along!!

Christian Alzmann is a senior artist at Lucas Film, the studio that gave us Star Wars. He has recently posted a picture on his social media account that caught everyone’s attention. It is a picture of an aged Luke Skywalker and the picture was conceptualized way before The Force Awakens hit the theatres a few years ago. This means it was all pre-planned.

Here is the picture we are talking about:

Under the design, Alzmann is seen posting this caption which helped us paint a clearer picture. He says and we quote:

“My first image I made for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This was January of 2013. Luke was being described as a Col. Kurtz type hiding from the world in a cave. I couldn’t believe I was getting to make this image and I got a George ‘Fabulouso’ on it to boot.”

Rian Johnson, we have just one thing to say to you – YOU ARE EXCUSED!!!

Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just... do things
