A New Rumour Has Revealed MCU’s 2020 Release Schedule & You’d Love it!

2019 is going to be a massive year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Superhero genre overall, but people are really inquisitive about MCU’s 2020 Release Schedule because Marvel has not confirmed anything beyond Spider-Man: Far From Home.

After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 dropped out of the schedule and was put on an indefinite hold post the unfortunate firing of James Gunn, people want to know how is Marvel going to fill the void of the cosmic adventure.

Although Gunn had finished the script of Vol. 3 Disney is still waiting to figure things out about the film and the recent verdict of Kevin Feige has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still on hold!

Marvel is supposed to be reshuffling their 2020 movies, but as it turned out, Disney removed the MCU film which was supposed to come out on July 31, 2020, from their schedule. That left us with only 2 MCU films for 2020 and guessing those 2 does seem pretty easy. But is there a twist in the tale?

That Hashtag Show claims that the two MCU films coming out in 2020 are supposed to be Black Widow and The Eternals. Now, this does make sense, as both these films have been in talks for the past year or so.

Things seem to be more figured out when it comes to Black Widow as Cate Shortland has been hired by Marvel to direct the solo Black Widow movie and Jac Schaeffer has the responsibility to pen the script. So, with this being the case, you could expect that the Black Widow film will come out on May 1, 2020.

Recently a Synopsis for the film was revealed by Production Weekly which confirmed that most of the plot of the film will take place around 2006 which is two years before the 2008-set Iron Man. So the film will indeed be a prequel portraying a young 22-year-old Natasha. Here’s the Synopsis:

To many people’s surprise, The Eternals will be the next film to be coming to theaters on November 6, 2020. Here’s what Feige said about this project a while ago:

“Eternals is one of many, many, many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about.”

So far we know very little about the film, but we know that the film will be directed by Chloe Zhao. Prioritizing it in place of another cosmic adventure seems to be the right choice.

A Synopsis of the film has been circulating around the internet, and it seems that this film will be a prequel to every other MCU film including the historical ventured of Thor as it will take place millennia before anything else in the Marvel Universe. Here’s the Synopsis:

MCU's 2020 Release Schedule

“The story of ‘THE ETERNALS’ is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as Deviants. The two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race. The story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.”

Now you may ask that what of the sequel to Doctor Strange? Well, there was no mention of it by That Hashtag Show, but we need not be worried as a script for the film is already in play.

Recent rumours even suggested that the film may go into production as early as by the end of this year. So it has to be the third film of 2020. Marvel just can’t go back to giving us only 2 films in a year. Hopefully, they announce a proper schedule of 2020 soon with Doctor Strange 2 being the third film of the year.
