Infinity War Directors’ Next Movie Project Post Avengers 4 Finally Revealed!
The Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo have become a legendary duo in the greater Hollywood circle with the success of the extremely profitable Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Their latest movie Avengers Infinity War has crossed the 2 Billion dollar mark in the international box office arena. The revenue the movie has earned is even more than the GDP of some countries in the globe. That is Infinity War for you. With the immense success of their projects, it would seem logical to think that the Russo brothers will be heading more into the superhero game. Do you know what movie project the Russo Brothers are going to work on the future? Presenting – Infinity War Directors’ next movie project post-Avengers 4 finally revealed!!
We have some bad news for you folks! The next movie the Russo Brothers are reportedly directing is neither an action movie nor does it lie within the era of superhero fiction. The Russo Brothers will be heading their next movie project called Cherry. And it is rumored to be an intense crime mystery thriller project. This is what Deadline has been saying recently after their interview with the director duo.
Cherry also has an interesting premise. The movie will be a dramatized fictional projection of the real-life story of a former Army medic Nico Walker. Nico has been ridden with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ever since he came back from the battlefield and is a drug addict. He is a criminal now, getting his days by robbing banks. Cherry is supposed to be a movie that is a mixture of love, sex, drugs, and high octane action. The Russo Brothers have started their film studio startup called AGBO and have acquired the film rights to several such stories, the latest being a 1 million dollar buy out for the novel Cherry is based on.
The Creator-director and Executive Producer of The Path, Jessica Goldberg is heading the scriptwriting department for Cherry. The Russo Brothers will be directing the movie and will probably be their first movie they have under their director’s chair that is a crime drama and not of the superhero action category. Before Cherry, the Russo Brothers were heavily invested in movies like Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Their latest movie was Avengers: Infinity War, a culmination of 10 long years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cherry’s film rights are on hold for now. The former soldier turned bank robber turned novelist has been in prison since 2011. The Russo Brothers are barred from further contact with the guy for a whole week since Nico ran out of phone minutes in prison for this week. The New York Times reports that Nico Walker fell into PTSD soon and robbed more than twelve banks after his tour in Iraq came to an end with the US Army. He robbed the banks off of about 40,000 USD, maybe even more. The synopsis of the novel goes something like this:
It’s 2003, and as a college freshman in Cleveland, our narrator is adrift until he meets Emily. The two of them experience an instant, life-changing connection. But when he almost loses her, he chooses to make an indelible statement: he joins the Army. The outcome will not be good for either of them.
As a medic in Iraq, he is unprepared for the realties that await him. He and his fellow soldiers huff computer duster, abuse painkillers, and watch porn. Many of them die. When he comes home, his PTSD is profound. As the opioid crisis sweeps through the Midwest, it drags both him and Emily along with it. As their addictions worsen, and with their money drying up, he stumbles onto what seems like the only possible solution—robbing banks.
Written by a singularly talented, wildly imaginative debut novelist, Cherry is a bracingly funny and unexpectedly tender work of fiction straight from the dark heart of America.
The latest movie to directed and released under the Russo Brothers was Infinity War. The official synopsis for the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
