Avengers: Infinity War Originally Included [Spoiler] from Guardians of the Galaxy

Avengers: Infinity War was full of some amazing characters that Marvel has set up till now. It brought in close to 70 MCU characters. Some of those were really important to the plot while others showed up just to excite the fans not having big story arcs. There were some surprising cameos in the movie as well. This was the first time Guardians of the Galaxy met with the Avengers and that we have to say was amazing as not only did they go toe to toe with three of the Strongest Avengers from Earth, but they also got Thanos captive for a while, which for the record was Peter Quill’s plan!

The Russos and Marvel were really secretive about this project that they went up to the extent of giving actors fake scripts and having fake items present on the sets of Infinity War. This movie was kept really close to the chest and only a handful of people behind the scenes, a handful of actors and the president of Marvel, Kevin Feige knew the entire script of the movie. Seeing the movie in theatres, we got to know that why was Marvel keeping everything a big secret regarding this movie and Avengers 4.

So many utterly shocking things happened in this movie, and no other Superhero movie of this level has ever been able to give us the insane amount of thrill and suspense that this movie has provided us. The end was obviously shocking but the most surprising part of the movie was not even the Soul Stone. We got a hint as to what reveals Marvel may be hiding for the Soul Stone right in the beginning of the movie with the expression of the Soul Stone, but the place and the person who we may find with the Soul Stone was the biggest surprise of all.

The surprise which I am talking about Red Skull who appeared out of nowhere at Vormir and amazed the audiences. The second cameo that came in was a big surprise for the fans was done by Peter Dinklage who appeared in the movie as Eitri the Dwarf on Nidavellir. Stan Lee’s obligatory cameo obviously had to happen as he appeared as a bus driver this time around.

There were two more cameos that were shot but cut of the movie, one obviously was of Happy Hogan who came in and interrupted Tony and Pepper’s run, and right at that very moment, Joe Russo himself had a cameo as a cameraman for Paparazzi. Happy and the Cameraman were supposed to have an interaction, but since the movie was already a little stuffed, that did not happen.

Now another character who was supposed to have a cameo in the movie but did not appear was Howard the Duck from Guardians of the Galaxy. Howard the Duck has had two cameos in the two Guardians movies and other than that he has had no other appearance. Now, it has been confirmed by co-director Joe Russo himself that Howard the Duck was a part of the earlier drafts of the script as Russo confirmed it in a recent interview with Fandom:

Avengers: Infinity War Guardians of the Galaxy

“Howard the Duck was in one draft of the script,” Russo said. “Howard the Duck actually had a really good scene…we were going to cameo with [The Hangover and Community star] Ken Jeong, with Howard the Duck. That was a much-beloved scene by us but it just didn’t end up fitting at all.”

Oh, this could have been really awesome and a real big surprise, but as we all know, Infinity War was packed and it might not have fit in any way. This does not mean that we cannot get Howard the Duck somewhere in Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 will be full of cameos as well. The Grandmaster is confirmed to have a scene with his brother The Collector, Stan Lee will return, Joe Russo might be there and Happy Hogan is confirmed as well. So let’s see what all surprises are a part of Avengers 4.

Here’s the official Synopsis of Avengers 4:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
