Avengers: Infinity War Fan Spots A Big Mistake In Ebony Maw’s Q Ship Scene

Avengers: Infinity War came out back in April, but the fans of the movie are still going through it time after time as if it was released yesterday. Every time we watch the movie, we tend to find something new, whether it is a new Easter Egg, a reference or even a supposed mistake on the part of the creatives. There were very few mistakes in this particular movie, but a new one has now made it to the internet.

Keep in mind that we are not talking about the mistakes the characters made in leading to the horrific ending, so don’t start with Star-Lord being able to keep calm or Thor missing the head of Thanos or other stuff like that. The plot could have gone in a hundred different directions but here we are talking about the mistakes that were made by the creatives as they might have been ignorant, less careful or even deliberate with a few scenes in the film.

One of the supposed mistakes in the movie was made by Thor actor Chris Hemsworth repeatedly. Right from the moment he first told everyone about Nidavellir, he actually pronounced it “Nivadellir”. Not just once or twice, but four freakin’ times! The spellings on the screen clearly showed it to be called Nidavellir, and even Rocket and others in the movie pronounce it the way it should be, but if you really focus and here, Thor keeps calling the legendary place “Nivadellir”.

Now we don’t really know whether Hemsworth does it purposely for us to notice and the creatives allow it, or he just can’t say the word “Nidavellir”. Well, to be honest, it is a pretty long word and many of us might have called it the same way as Thor/Hemsworth. Hemsworth also tends to have an Australian Accent so who knows, it is still knit-picking at its best. It was fun to hear Thor say Nivadellir repeatedly though.

Ignoring this and moving past the movie, another one of the mistakes has now made it to the internet as a Reddit user has posted a photo which will make you think that The Russos were not vigilant enough as they actually left a literal hole in the plot.

According to what this fan has posted, right after the Battle of New York 2.0 when the Maw successfully abducts Doctor Strange and Iron Man & Spider-Man were left behind following the Q Ship out of the surface of the Earth, there’s a little-uncovered area left by the creatives. Here, have a look at the post:

Avengers Infinity War Movie Mistake – The Maw’s Q-Ship Self-Repair & Then It Wasn’t…? from marvelstudios

Now what this fan points out may actually be correct as when Iron Man cuts a hole and enters in the spaceship, he immediately removes his helmet after that and even talks to Pepper. The hole he made in the ship was not fixed by him, so people thought that the ship may have some sort of self-repair function, but later Ebony Maw was tossed out of the ship, Iron Man went on and actually fixed the hole made through his icing tech. So what happened to the self-repair tech in this scene?

This means that the ship obviously did not have a function like this, and a mistake was left unsolved in the previous scene. Tony should have been sucked out of the ship if that particular hole wasn’t fixed back then. We could say that he did use the same icing tech and covered the hole in the previous scene as well, but the Russos deliberately chose not to show the scene as the icing tech reveal made a better impact in the scene where the Maw was tossed out to die. The scene would have been repetitive if shown twice and the movie was already 2 and a half hours long, so this way the creatives might have decided to save a few seconds of screen time.
