Infinity War – The Avengers Would Have Won If Tony Didn’t…

The Infinity War was the gigantic comic-book event teased by MCU for years since it officially began in 2008. It was the mother of all battles which saw Avengers assemble on one side and Mad Titan ‘Thanos’ with all his might on the other. The result of this clash was EPICNESS!

We knew going into the movie that Thanos will be the most terrifying cosmic super-villain ever and Avengers would find him as their toughest adversary till now, that’s precisely what happened. The director duo Russo brothers told us that Thanos is like the Genghis Khan of MCU and that fans should be ready to bear the suffering of losing some of their beloved heroes. They said:

“This is it. Thanos is an unstoppable villain he’s virtually invincible, he’s highly intelligent – genius level intelligent – he’s like the Genghis Khan of the universe, and to stop him it’s going to cost them a lot. They’re going to have to see if they’re willing to pay that price, and that’s what these movies are really about. What we meant by that is to be prepared. What we want is for the audience to be prepared, as there’s a lot of surprises – there’s going to be a lot of humor and a lot of heartbreak.”

“For us, it’s very important that the heroes feel pain and that they make sacrifices because I think that, not only is a great storytelling, but it also is inspiring and I think we need a lot of inspiration in this world right now. So, for us, I don’t know if we can ever get you to accept it, but I promise you this: we’ll do our best to tell you the best story possible, and what you do with it from there is up to you.”

Easter egg for Captain america: The First avenger Avengers: Infinity War

Well, Thanos did overpower Avengers and Guardians rather single-handedly as Black Order failed in their respective missions. He collected the Infinity stones, assembled them in the gauntlet and snapped his fingers wiping out half the life in the universe.

In the hindsight, we can run different scenarios of how Avengers would have won, for instance, if Starlord controlled his emotions when he heard about Gamora’s death or if Thor went for the head. But if only Tony Stark hadn’t taken one decision early on, the Avengers would probably have won. And that’s taking the fight to Thanos’ home-planet Titan.

Imagine, Stark, Strange and Spider-Man coming back to Earth after killing off Ebony Maw in space and joining forces with Cap and his crew, Black Panther’s army, Thor, Tree & Rocket; they would have had much stronger shot at defeating Thanos and his remaining children. As they say “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”.

The Infinity War writers scripted the movie in that manner but if Team Tony and Cap’s Secret Avengers had reunited, they would have settled their issues, fought like a team, safeguarding not one but two Infinity stones as Strange had to trade it for Tony’s life. Guess, they would have prevented the catastrophe.
