Kevin Feige Confirms A Major Ant-Man Theory That Sets Up Ant-Man And The Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp is coming out in just 7 days, and this whole week we are going to be excited about this amazing sequel that is said to be the best of MCU. After Infinity War showed us the very dark and shocking ending filled with death and destruction, Ant-Man and the Wasp will completely set the mood for the rest of the year as it is said to be family friendly and a fun ride throughout.

The 20th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be a smart and really surprising thriller and it is going to bring the amazing visual aspect that Doctor Strange did as well. It will continue the story that the first Ant-Man movie and Civil War set up, and lead directly to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. That itself makes this movie the most important movie of Phase 3 as it is related to not just one or 2 but 4 big movies in total.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is going to majorly focus on the Quantum Realm as team Pym will be working upon bringing her back from the Realm where Space and time have no relevance whatsoever. In the first movie, an event that took place at the very end of the movie spawned a major theory that has been left long on hold till now. In the scene where Ant-Man went into the Quantum Realm by shrinking down to the subatomic level in order to sabotage Yellow Jacket’s suit, Scott sees an array of lights as he shrinks, and at one point Wasp’s silhouette can be seen in the light and getting reflected in Ant-Man’s helmet.

We will obviously see Janet return from the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Michelle Pfeiffer is going to be playing that role. Until now, the scene where everyone thought that they saw a silhouette of the Wasp was believed to only be an unanswered theory, but now Kevin Feige has not come out and confirmed the fact that that was, in fact, the case, and it was actually a very important element of plot building for the sequel. Feige mentioned that Scott has already had an encounter with Janet Van Dyne in the Quantum Realm while he took a trip there.

Here’s what he said:

In the first film it was, we got a glimpse of it for people who like to go through frame-by-frame, there was a little silhouette of Janet as the Wasp in there, which is a big story element in this movie.”

We also got to see Janet as the original Wasp alongside Hank Pym’s Ant-Man in a flashback sequence that portrayed that how exactly Janet went subatomic in the first place. So we could imagine that Janet is going to be an integral part of the Ant-Man universe and she is said to have an appearance in Avengers 4 as well.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is also giving Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne, aka the Wasp a major push to the center stage. People who have seen the movie are hailing Wasp as one of their favorite MCU supers from now on. Director Peyton Reed previously talked to collider, and he mentioned that the Wasp is going to have her own mission in the film separate from Ant-Man.

He said:

“The mission that is happening with her, entirely separate of Scott, is vital. And it’s her mission. It’s not her dad’s mission. It’s her mission,” Reed explained, adding that while Lilly’s Hope is working with Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, Hope is the one who calls the shots. “It’s really Hope leading in charge and that was an important thing when we started talking about what was going on, is the what and why of this mission. The big mission is to find Janet. What that means ultimately for our characters on a personal level is one thing. What it means for the larger world is another thing. And all the other things are really, you know, stumbling blocks on the path.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp will come out on July 6, and Here’s the official Synopsis of the movie:

“From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”
