Major Spoiler – The Fate of the Wasp In Avengers 4 Revealed

Avengers: Infinity War is still making history every day it runs in a theatre. People were totally satisfied with the movie as it was worth the wait, and the end blew everyone away, leaving an impact that will not go away until the next year. There are less than 11 months left before we finally get to see the culmination of the MCU till now, which will be through Avengers 4.

Infinity War was so packed with stuff that we could never have seen all the characters at once in a story that was building up to something big. We can obviously see all these characters appear at once in the final act of this story, but in no way can all the characters have appearances at the same time and not be totally wasted. So, it was really great on the part of the screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and the Directors Joe & Anthony Russo to give certain story arcs at certain times that do justice to everyone and at the same time, really make a lot of sense.

Apparently, in Infinity War, many characters were missing including the Supers, which were Hawkeye, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Valkyrie and Korg if you do count him in as well. All these characters have certain story arcs written for Infinity War except for maybe one or 2 of these characters. Hawkeye is going to show up as Ronin possibly hunting the Skrulls or the Yakuza. Captain Marvel is probably going to be the MVP similar to what Doctor Strange was in Infinity War. Ant-Man will possibly have one of the most important roles in the movie introducing the Avengers through the Quantum Realm making time travel possible. Valkyrie and Korg would return from their current whereabouts which no one really knows of.

We recently got to see the first look at the main Superheroes that are alive and are believed to be an important part of the final movie as they will be the last defense against the Mad Titan. Looking at what Thanos did, and the further threat that he possesses, the Avengers will now take the fight to Thanos himself and not sit around for him to show up again. They have nothing to lose from here on, but Marvel still promises us a movie that will utterly blow us away.

So if we look at the heroes in this image that has now officially hit the net, we can see the survivors of Thanos’ Finger Snap that were seen in Infinity War, and the ones who were yet to make an appearance in Avengers 4. Here we can see the original 6 Avengers which include Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, and the other ones that we can see are War Machine, Rocket Nebula, Ant-Man and Captain Marvel.

So these 11 are probably going to have big story arcs in Avengers 4, and in the third act, we will obviously see everyone who got disintegrated be brought back for a final showdown against the Mad Titan. But the characters that did not appear in Infinity War and is absent from this image as well are The Wasp, Valkyrie and Korg. Well, Korg and Valkyrie do not have a major Superhero status but the Wasp is a more renown name, and she was expected to show up in Avengers 4, especially what Evangeline Lilly had to say about her role in the movie. She said:

“I will appear in Avengers 4. Not very much, so don’t get your hopes up. Not going to be a ton. But I’m in there! And I’m proud to be in there, and I’m stoked to be in there.”

Well, this possibly confirms the fate of Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp. Since Ant-Man and the Wasp will let the Wasp take more of the center stage and it will build up to the events of Infinity War, it is highly likely that we will get to see the consequences of the Finger Snap in the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. So, looking at what Lilly said, a minor role may very well mean that she will also be turned to dust like many of the other heroes we saw. Unfortunately for the fans of the Wasp, she will not have a major involvement in Avengers 4.

Actually, this would make sense if you think about it. Seeing absolutely no one getting turned to dust from the Ant-Man franchise would be a little over the top, and Wasp turning into dust will make Ant-Man and Hank Pym even more inclined to work with the Avengers.

Avengers 4 will come out on May 3, 2019.
