Ant-Man And The Wasp – Here’s How The Wasp Suit Works Like Iron Man

The MCU has reached to an all-time high and we all have been blessed with the greatness of this franchise. It all began with Iron Man 10 years ago, and now we will be getting the 20th movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp in the biggest franchise in Hollywood within 16 days. After Avengers: Infinity War completely blew us away and left us with so many questions, Ant-Man and the Wasp is going to give us the answer to some of those by revealing that where exactly were the two insect heroes during the mega event and what have they been up to.

Ant-Man is going to have a major role to play in Avengers 4 and Ant-Man and the Wasp is going to sort of bridge the gap between Infinity War and Avengers 4, and establish the link between these two movies by the thread of the Quantum Realm. The Quantum Realm is going to be heavily involved in Avengers 4 as it will introduce Time Travel in that film which is believed to be a full on time travel event. But Ant-Man and the Wasp will portray the Quantum Realm in order to bring Janet Van Dyne back from there as she has been stuck there for almost 2 decades.

Hank Pym and Hope will approach Scott Lang who has been on house arrest after having made a deal with the Government escaping from the Raft. He has been living with his daughter after that and Pym and his daughter recruit him again for a particular mission, which can be either of the two guesses which are – for getting Janet Van Dyne back from the Quantum Realm or to take on the new villain Ghost who has been unleashed by Pym himself. It would most probably be both.

Ever since the first trailer of the movie hit the net, we saw that how uniquely the Director and the writers have used the advantages and disadvantages of Pym Tech, and they have made it look really awesome. Right from the moment where Hank Pym turned his entire research lab building into a suitcase, people were in for the movie. One of the most apparent things suggested by the title of this film is that Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne/ The Wasp is getting a major push to the center stage in this movie after having been set up in the first Ant-Man movie.

The trailer amazed us showing what the Wasp would do in the movie as she seems to be a total bad-ass. All these female heroes coming up into the limelight do pose a thought in our minds for a potential all-star female superhero movie and the Wasp would surely be a major candidate for that. In the trailers, we saw that The Wasp having wings installed into her suit can obviously fly, and Hank Pym revealed that he installed blasters in her suit as well.

This looks stunning visually, but the technical intricacies of the suit have to be explained to the audiences, and like us, Evangeline Lilly herself was really interested upon knowing how her suit really works. Lilly talked about the functioning of the suit she is sporting in this movie during a press visit to the sets of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Here’s what she said:

“I was like, guys, this has to make sense, or I’m not doin’ it. I need answers to these technical questions. I like living by internal rules. Even if nobody knows they’re there, I need them. So, I don’t have a button. My suit is an upgrade from Scott Lang’s suit that he was wearing because he was wearing Hank’s original suit from the 1960s. So, what we were able to do with technology and my suit, I have blasters on my wrists. I have my wings. Essentially there is like a reaction system to what I am thinking. So, I don’t have to do anything physically to activate shrinking wings, blasters growing, none of that. I just think it and it happens.”

She also stated that her suit is pretty similar to that of Iron Man. She continued:

“I think also similar to Iron Man because you never see him press buttons or do anything just happen. So, I assume there’s a tech like when you go to the hospital and they hook up those pads and things, that there’s something hooked up to my brain through the helmet and somehow it’s reading what I’m thinking.”
