Hulk vs Venom: Can the Green Guy Take Down an Alien Symbiote?

The big black anti-hero or the big green rage monster? This is a question most fans would be asking a lot. Venom is usually underestimated by people after seeing the trash version of him in Spider-man 3. He is actually way more powerful and would totally hold his own against the Hulk. So let’s get into Hulk vs Venom and find out who would be the winner.

Venom

Venom originally appeared as a supervillain but has since become more of an antihero. Venom is a Symbiote, a sentient alien, with a gooey, slimy form which comes in Black. Similar to the real-world symbiotes, it also requires a host, usually human, to bond with for its survival. After bonding, the Symbiote transfers the enhanced powers it has on the host. When the Venom Symbiote bonds with a human, that new dual-life form is called “Venom”.

Venom first bonded with Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, who eventually separated himself from the creature when he discovered its true nature. The Symbiote then went on to merge with many other hosts, and the most notable one was Eddie Brock, who is its second and most infamous host, with whom it first came to be called as ‘Venom’ and one of Spider-Man’s archenemies. In the upcoming Venom movie, there is not going to be any Spider-Man, so Venom will straight away bond with Brock.

Venom has some insane abilities which no other Superhero has. This symbiote is totally adaptable to any surrounding, it can be Spider-Man and even much more than him, it never runs out of web, it has the ability to shapeshift, it has cloaking and camouflage skills, it can even grow back limbs and it has the genetic ability to transfer its learning and powers from host to host. Venom is the ultimate Killing machine! The only disadvantage this symbiote has is that it is vulnerable to sonic noises.

The Incredible Hulk

Hulk is a force no one can control, not even he himself. When he is ‘Smashing’ no one stays standing. Hulk is probably the strongest Avenger (well according to Tony he is) and no one would want to cross paths against this giant green rage monster. Bruce Banner is a scientist with a genius level intellect and he became the Hulk when he was accidentally exposed to Gamma rays during the detonation of an experimental bomb as they were trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Instead what was created was this big Green Goliath.

When Banner transformers into the Hulk, he becomes extremely powerful and loses control being subjected to emotional stress, at or against his will, often leading to destructive rampages and conflicts that complicate Banner’s civilian life. His Strength is often proportionate to the level of anger he possesses at a time. Attacking the Hulk will make him angrier and hence even stronger, so that would be a foolish mistake to make for anyone. His powers include superhuman strength and durability. He can run really fast despite being so heavy and can jump higher than a building.

If Sony fully crosses over with Disney and Marvel relating to all its properties and not just Spider-Man, then this would be a match up people would surely be looking for. Venom from the comics is extremely strong and he can take on anyone he sets his eyes on. The Hulk might not be able to have a big impact upon Venom with the range of abilities Venom actually possesses. His constant pounding may go on for a while, but Venom can actually get used to that and reply with an even bigger attack.

Hulk vs Venom

Venom can actually take over the Hulk and infuse itself with the Hulk, and either beat it from inside, or actually control him as he is an even more powerful host. The Hulk could gain an advantage if he is able to somehow create high pitched sonic noises. These days, Hulk is actually getting smarter, as he is learning more feelings than just anger. So if he is able to find this weakness of Venom, then there is no one who could save Venom from the green rage monster.

So, there are reasons that would allow both these individuals a winning opportunity. The Hulk would have a higher chance of winning because there is no slowing him down, and he cannot be tamed easily. But Venom can do it. Still, the fight goes 60-40 in favor of the Hulk.
