Avengers: Infinity War Writers Say They Will Kill [SPOILER] Again!!

Infinity War is the biggest comic-book event in the history of Marvel comics. Scores of Marvel fans around the world have been waiting for a decade to see unfold on the big screen. Since 2008, when the MCU was officially launched with Iron Man solo movie, we have seen in total 19 MCU movies, 19th being Avengers Infinity War which was the culmination of all that happened in three phases.

Thanos was built as this ‘Darth Vader’ figure of MCU who will make our worst nightmares come true. He as truly the best villain ever and most terrifying enemy that Avengers had ever come across. He was not just an unstoppable monster who wants to commit large-scale atrocities, instead, he was an evil genius who had a purpose to bring balance to the universe.

He was absolutely clear in his mission and how to achieve it. He believed that he was the only cosmic creature who is strong willed to take the hardest decisions on everyone’s behalf. In his twisted story, he was the hero who saved the day.

The epic masterpiece i.e Avengers: Infinity War came with so many deaths it made us cry in agony. And while the fan is still dealing with the aftermath of the climax of that movie and the resulting PTSD that set in later after leaving the theaters, the Infinity War writers have dropped another bombshell that has hit us hard yet again. A major superhero that died in Infinity War is being rumored to die again in the future. Avengers Infinity War writers say they will kill [SPOILER] again if they have to!!

SPOILER ALERT: Massive Spoilers for Infinity War up ahead. Proceed with caution….

The battle with Thanos cost the Avengers dearly. Loki and Gamora died pretty early in the movie while the rest of the deaths (barring Vision) happened only after Thanos snapped his fingers after collecting all the six Infinity Stones.

infinity kill list

Doctor Strange, Bucky, Spiderman, Starlord, Drax, Mantis, Black Panther, Falcon, Nick Fury and Maria Hill adorn the casualty list. And yet the Infinity War writers claim they will kill of a dead superhero again if they have to.

Can you guess which superhero we are talking about?!?!?

When Thanos snaps his fingers, several of Earth’s mightiest heroes turn to ash. It would have been a major flaw with Avengers: Infinity War if there weren’t significant deaths in the movie.  Marvel promised that there will be real stakes and it will lead to dramatic shake-up of the MCU. And they lived up to their word.

Many actors who portrayed superheroes that were already on their way to star in their own solo projects later on also died. The one superhero that somehow has gotten on the Infinity War writers’ bad side is Black Panther, one of Marvel Studios’ greatest superheroes.

Black Panther is one of the highest grossing movies ever to be made in Hollywood. It is one of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s crown jewels. It also happens to be Marvels’ highest-rated Superhero movie that was universally acclaimed to be Marvel’s greatest movie ever. There is no way that studio won’t greenlit Black Panther’s sequel from the financial standpoint.

The Avengers: Infinity War co-writer Stephen McFeely says that he has no qualms about killing off T’Challa again to further the storyline. His co-writer for Infinity War, Christopher Markus is of the similar opinion. According to them, what they have to do it to ensure the audience receives a well-made story, even if it would be painful to watch the King of Wakanda die again on screen. The Avengers: Infinity War writers say:

“First of all, we would do it all over again. But remember, when we’re writing [Infinity War], and even shooting, there is no Black Panther movie. We don’t know it’s going to be so good, so effective, so resonant. And we had to treat all these characters the same. People who leave us [in Infinity War] are the leads of their own franchises. And Black Panther’s no different.

“We wanted that thing that happens at the end of that movie to have as much impact as possible. If you’re very carefully getting rid of your supporting cast, then it does seem like you’re pulling your punch.”

Avengers: Infinity War

McFeely makes a convincing point about the Marvel Movies. Marvel has been rightfully accused of making ‘kid-friendly’ movies where death and chaos have lost all meaning. Agent Phil Coulson’s death was the rallying point for the Avengers and yet he was resurrected later in Agents of Shield. Nick Fury’s death was later retconned when he was found to be alive and kicking in The Winter Soldier.

T’Challa is a character that is loved and followed by scores of audiences. He is deep in the hearts and minds of Marvel fans who can give another Billion to Marvel if they keep him alive. Killing him once was hard enough. Killing him again would drive the point home – Marvel can produce mature storylines with lots of death and destruction. This will completely silence the critics who have blasted Marvel for making superhero movies without dire consequences.

Black Panther has kinda already been roped in for a sequel and so have been many of the now deceased superheroes like Doctor Strange, Starlord and Spiderman. Will death follow these characters around like the Sword of Damocles hanging over their head the way it does for Black Panther or do they have a bright future ahead in the MCU? Only time will tell.

But Infinity War writer Christopher Markus is clear about one thing that the deaths we saw were permanent and there is no going back. He said:

“[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also… [the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief.”

Avengers Infinity War is drawing a huge crowd into the theaters and is running successfully worldwide. It opened to a record-breaking opening weekend where it earned over $260 million at the box office. The movie is comfortably poised to reach the magical figure of $1 Billion in a few days.

In fact, the box office pundits believe that the movie has enough juice to reach $2 Billion once everything is said and done. Don’t miss this one for the world.

The cast is incredibly amazing as it has some of the biggest Hollywood stars playing important characters including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Sebastian Stan (Winter soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Karen Gillian (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax), Paul Bettany (Vision), Peter Dinklage (Eitri), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Mariah Hill).

Here is the official movie synopsis, it reads:

“Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
