Here’s How Doctor Strange Has Majorly Changed In Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War will be upon us in less than 20 days and the hype for the movie keeps increasing as it gets closer and closer. Infinity War will be the greatest character ensemble ever seen on the big screen and it will bind together all the stories told in the last 10 years, starting from Iron Man itself. Since the build-up to this movie has been so fantastic, the anticipation for the movie is huge. It is expected to literally break the box office, and blow the minds of all the fans and critics at the same time.

We are going to have so many characters come in with their own story arcs, and almost all of them will have a necessity in the movie, Avengers: Infinity War. Some characters may influence the plot in a big way while some may not, but still, they will come in handy one way or the other. 76 Characters are going to be there in the movie, and out of them, around 34 are going to be Superheroes who will play their part in the war against the Mad Titan.

The big three of the MCU are all going to have really significant roles, but the new characters added in Phase 3 are also going to have prominent roles in the movie. Black Panther, Spider-Man and most importantly, Doctor Strange will be the ones that will affect the movie in a great way. Strange had a huge role in the comics and we can’t expect to see anything less over here as well.

Benedict Cumberbatch was recently involved in an interview, where he talked about how his character has changed and evolved in the time between Doctor Strange and Avengers: Infinity War. Cumberbatch said that Strange is fun and “The evolution of him in this is interesting.” He continued:

“We met a very somber person by the end of the first film. I think he’d become crude into the idea of being really heroic is sacrificing your own needs and selfishness for something a little more selfless and doing good for others. That’s a lonely part for the taking. That moment where he looks at the watch, his last vestige to Christine, and then out of the window and there he is in a profile of a hero to come.”

Well, after the solo movie, we saw the Sorcerer Supreme in Thor: Ragnarok and the first signs of Strange’s transformation were apparently on display in the movie as he toyed with the God of Thunder and the God of Mischief like it was a piece of cake. So, just imagine how powerful he would be in Infinity War. Cumberbatch said:

“That’s the person we meet a little bit in Thor: Ragnarok, giving Thor the run around, and then very much so in this. He’s, as everyone is in this film, constantly taken by surprise by the speed of events, the ramping up of jeopardy, however the events and threats just overtake them basically. Everyone is just playing a game of survival in this film. He still seems to be a little step ahead, slightly book-ending it with some foresight. Also, trying to be more of the adult in the room. There’s still comedy but he’s not quite as petulant and certainly not as egotistical narcissistic as he was in the first film.”

This time, he is going to meet up with all other mighty heroes of Earth and we have already seen him team up with Banner, Tony, Spidey and some Guardians. It will be really great to see how things will play out with Doctore Strange. It has also been teased that Strange might turn upon the Avengers being manipulated and mind controlled by Ebony Maw. This would pay homage to the storyline in the comics as well, so let’s see what all Strange will be up to in this mega-crossover event.
