10 Embarrassing Roles Played By the Stars of Harry Potter

The Harry Potter series had some amazing actors that made the movies what they are. The talented actors had many other roles before and some of them even had some roles they might want to forget. These are some of the movies and roles that our favorite Potter actors might not be so proud of:

 10. Timothy Spall- Enchanted:

We all hate Wormtail but the actor who played the role of the worse marauder did a good job. Timothy Spall has been acting for a long time and not all his roles were good. He played the role of Nathaniel in the famous rom-com ‘Enchanted’ starring Amy Adams and it wasn’t a great role for him as he played a sidekick who was always getting his ass kicked by his mistress.

9. David Tennant- Fright Night:

David played the character of Barty Crouch Jr who was the villain in the fourth Potter movie. Tennant’s appearance in the movie was short as he only appeared in a few scenes but was still appreciated for his portrayal. His role in ‘Fright Night’ was rather bad where he played a fraud illusionist who is an obnoxious man-child.

8. Bill Nighy- Underworld series:

He is one of the greatest British actors and made a short appearance as Rufus Scrimgeour in ‘Deathly Hallows part 1’. He played the role of a vampire in the ‘Underworld’ series and the role did no favor to his acting abilities. He was a caricature type character that looked funny and not at all an elegant vampire. This is one of his bad roles on screen.

7. Robbie Coltrane- Gooby:

Our very own Hagrid Robbie Coltrane has played some wacky roles before Harry Potter and one of them is his role in the film ‘Gooby’ where he voiced a living teddy bear and the film is about his relationship with a 11-year-old who is scared of his new house. The film has 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and only five reviews. This is definitely a role he would not want to remember.

6. Tom Felton- Rise of the planet of the apes:

After playing the spoiled brat Draco Malfoy, Tom Felton has been typecasted as the go-to minor villain and racist character in some of his movies. His short stint in the ‘Rise of the planet of the apes’ is a proof the audience loves to hate him. He played the role of the ape caretaker and the most annoying character of the movie and we just wanted him dead at the end.

5. Robert Pattinson- The Twilight Saga:

After playing the role of the charming and courageous Cedric Diggory in the fourth Potter movie, Robert Pattinson got his big break in the Twilight series as the lead Edward Cullen. The role definitely got him a lot of fame and success but his acting received bad reviews and he later admitted the series didn’t help him in his craft.

4. Helena Bonham Carter- Dark Shadows:

Whenever Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton get together they create something dark and creepy that also stars Johnny Depp. Although most of the times this trio has made good movies with good twisted characters, yet there are some that didn’t go as well. ‘Dark Shadows’ is a dark comedy that stars Depp as a vampire and even though the movie is not bad but HBC’s character doesn’t do justice to her talent. This might be one of the weakest roles she has played.

3. Rupert Grint- Lego House music video:

As a member of the golden trio Rupert Grint was always center stage in the Potter films and therefore we expected him to shine even after the series ended. However, the success wagon has been moving rather slow for Grint after his Potter fame. The most notable appearance he has made has been in the Ed Sheeran music video for the song ‘Lego house. Grint did a good job in the video but after his immense success as Ron Weasley, it is a little underwhelming.

2. Daniel Radcliffe- Swiss Army man:

The leading man of the Potter series has been doing some very different roles since his stint as the boy who lived ended. Daniel has experimented a lot with his characters but his role in the ‘Swiss army man’ was just weird and embarrassing. He played the role of a dead body which is found by another man who is stranded on an island. The man befriends the dead body and they both have some adventures together. *Weird*

 1. Emma Watson- the Bling ring:

harry potter Embarrassing Roles

On one hand where she played Belle in the blockbuster Disney adaptation of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Sam in the movie adaptation of ‘Perks of being a wallflower’, she also did some embarrassing roles. Her role in the disastrous movie ‘Bling ring’ was so bad that we wish we could forget it. Watson’s portrayal was as bad as the movie itself and her fake American accent did nothing to help her in it.
