Avengers: Infinity War is almost upon us, as it is just 38 days away. We are so close to the biggest Superhero ensemble that has ever happened on the big screen and there is no stopping this movie from going crazy at the box office and pleasing all the fans and the critics. It is the most anticipated movie of this year and it will be the beginning of the culmination of whatever has happened in the MCU till now.
The movie is going to bring almost 76 characters of relevance played by the A-list actors of Hollywood, which has never ever happened till now. The scale and scope of the movie are immense, and the stakes are really high since for the first time in 10 years, Thanos, the Mad Titan will really make his presence be felt by us. He has been built as this big bad which is going to be “10 Times” extreme of what Darth Vader was. The movie has been described as a Heist movie by the directors of the movie as Thanos is going to collect the 6 Singularities going on a MacGuffin chase along with his evil Black Order and put them onto his gauntlet. Here’s what the directors, Russo Bros had to say about the film:
“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration.”
We have now seen quite a bit of footage as the second trailer for the movie Avengers: Infinity War, just came out recently and it went haywire on the internet as soon as it came out. People know what they could expect from the movie. But still, the two trailers and the big game spot were actually pretty tight and did not reveal any spoilers for the movie, and most of the movie was not even there in these trailers, so the fans could imagine that there is a lot going on in this movie.
The Russo Bros had to incorporate almost 76 characters of relevance, make Thanos seem like the ultimate big bad we all have been waiting for, give every Superhero at least one moment to shine, and do justice to the story of the movie and whatever the MCU has been built up to. Doing all this would obviously take a longer time than the usual time span Marvel movies are allocated.
Till now, Captain America: Civil War was the longest MCU movie being 2 hours and 27 minutes long, and it had way less characters to juggle in, so you could imagine Avengers: Infinity War to take a much longer time to explain the intricate plot and do everything justice. Earlier, a chain of theatres in the USA mentioned the runtime for the movie to be 2 hours and 30 Minutes. It was shorter than what the fans would have expected as this movie was expected to be around 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours.
But, now the runtime of the movie Avengers: Infinity War, has officially been listed since the pre-tickets sale for the movie has already begun, and the movie has been listed to be 156 minutes long, which is 2 hours and 36 minutes to be exact. Honestly, these extra 6 minutes would be crucial for the movie in order to spend time on the massive plot, characters, and action the movie has. It is the longest movie for the MCU so we have nothing to be worried about.
Avengers: Infinity War will open on April 27 and here is the official synopsis of the movie:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.
