The New Wasp Suit Has Insane Abilities Which Even Ant-Man Doesn’t Have

We finally got to see the new Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer and it was tremendous. Marvel is bringing all the goodies for us as Black Panther will hit the theatres within two weeks, Avengers Infinity War is just 3 months and we just got our first look at Ant-Man and the Wasp.

There were so many huge moments in the trailer and a lot of takeaways about the plot of the movie. There were 3 stands out factors in the trailer, the first obviously was Ant-Man himself who we saw was on house arrest and was again hired by Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne in order to bring Jannet Van Dyne back from the quantum realm.

Second was the villain of the movie Ghost, who we saw is going to be a woman in the movie and is possible after the Pym particles as we saw in the set photos that she is involved in the chase sequence along with the biker gang. Ghost is a male character in the comics who is an elite hacker, can make himself invisible and phase through things, and we even get to see the powers of Ghost in the trailer as we see an arm flickering and phasing in and out of view.

The third and the biggest takeaway from the trailer was without a doubt The Wasp. By the looks of the trailer, the movie seems to be more focused upon the Wasp, but who knows, Marvel does like to keep things tight.

At the end of the first Ant-Man movie, we got the first look at the suit which Hope Van Dyne was going to do in order to become the Wasp. But then it was revealed that it was a prototype and now we got the first look at the Wasp suit in live action with the whole Black and Gold color palette and it looks awesome.

The suit has amazing abilities which even Ant-Man’s suit does not possess. Ant-Man can grow huge in size by reversing the effect of the Pym particles and he can also become as small as an Ant. The Wasp, on the other hand, has much more than just that.

We saw in the trailer that she can not only shrink down to the size of a Wasp but also like a wasp, her suit has got wings which enable her to fly. We saw the flying ability of the Wasp even when Jannet Van Dyne was in the suit, so that is not a new feature for us to see. But, this new and upgraded Wasp suit also has blasters.

As it was revealed in the trailer that Hank Pym did have this tech even at the time of making the Ant-Man but decided to install all that in the Wasp suit instead. Her blasters are a version of the comics, as in the comics she had offensive weaponry which are called “The Wasp Stings”. So this could be a way of tying it with the comics.

We saw how skilfully Hope Van Dyne uses the Wasp suit in the trailer as she kicked a whole lot of ass being a trained hand to hand combatant and literally ran over blades and knives like it was nothing! She showed that we should never bring knives to a Wasp fight!

She was the biggest element of the trailer because she gave us so many amazing moments to cheer for. During the chase scene, she turned a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser into the size of a truck and used it as a great offensive maneuver delivering a scene which was visually pretty dope. It was a nod to the previous Ant-Man movie where we saw a Thomas the Engine toy turn into the size of a real train engine.

Fans cannot wait to see this movie as it is hiding a lot of stuff that we have never seen before. Paul Rudd is returning as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Michael Douglas is reprising his role as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly will play Hope Van Dyne aka The Wasp, Laurence Fishburne will be Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Walter Goggins will play Sonny Burch, Michelle Phiefer will play Jannet Van Dyne, Hannah John Kamen will play Ghost and Michael Pena will be returning as Luis. Directed by Payton Reed, Ant-Man, and The Wasp will hit the theatres on July 6, 2018.
