Here’s Every Record That Black Panther Has Broken Even Before Its Release

Black Panther is one of the most badass and popular superheroes in the Marvel universe. He was introduced into the MCU with Captain America: Civil War where he lost his father in a massive explosion at UN building where his father King Ta-Shaka was part of a delegation to negotiate Sokovia accords and sign a global treaty which will make registration of superheroes mandatory, this caused fissures between Tony Stark and Rogers.

He traced the attack back to Bucky aka Winter soldier who was brainwashed by Baron Zemo and carried out these violent attacks at his behest. Black Panther joined Team Iron Man as Cap was protecting his best friend Bucky and he wanted to take him down to avenge the death of his father.

It was amply clear from the performance of Chadwick Boseman that he deserved a solo movie and he got it. Here is what he said about the project:

“It’s funny, because on one hand, the Marvel movies that I’ve liked the most are the ones that are funny. I love Ant-Man. But for me, most of the time the darker superhero movies are the ones that I gravitate towards, that I love the most. So I’m glad that I’m not in an Ant-Man. I’m glad that the tone of Black Panther may be a little grittier. I just wanted to establish that from the beginning, that’s what we were doing. That that’s what I intend to do. I feel like we’ll end up in a place that I’ve always wanted to be when I look at superhero movies. Those are the ones I like the most. It’s exciting to do that.”

He added:

“I feel the energy. The image itself opens people’s minds up. You can talk about it all you want, you can have it in a comic book, you can even do an animated series, but when you see real people doing it, it changes something inside of you. It’s going to be a big deal because there’s not just Black people or people of African descent that want to see it, I think everybody wants to see it. That’s the beautiful thing. I truly believe there are more people who want to see it than don’t want to see it, especially after being here.”

Ryan Coogler, the guy who directed Creed was brought in by Marvel to be at the helm of Black Panther, making him the first Black person to ever direct a major Marvel movie. He has ruled out the traditional origin story and the movie is set post the events of Civil War. Here is what he said:

“What’s great is that people have already met Chadwick Boseman in Civil War, so now we get to jump in feet first without having to tell a more traditional origin story. We meet him as his world is changing. Black Panther takes place right after the events of Civil War, so T’Challa’s father has just been killed, he has returned home to Wakanda, and T’Challa has to navigate potentially becoming the new ruler of this nation. He never intended to become the king for years because he figured his dad would be around for a long time. T’Chaka’s death is, in a lot of ways, the catalyst for everything that’s happening in Black Panther.”

Finally, the moment for Black Panther fans has arrived as the movie is getting its worldwide release and it has already broken a number of records. After the premiere of the movie happened, the lucky fans who got to see the movie have nothing but praises for the movie.

Also, when the embargo of the movie lifted and critics gave their verdict, they also did not have any negative things to say about the movie. The movie is said to be one of the best if not the best MCU entry till now, and by the looks of it, the Box Office will be hit by a thunderstorm. Here are all the records Black Panther has broken till now.

Became the highest rated Marvel Movie

As the embargo of the movie lifted, Black Panther got nothing but positive reviews from the critics who can sometimes be very harsh. The movie got a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the first day, and as more reviews started coming in, the rating still did not go down as it does with other movies. The rating of the movie currently stands at 97% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

The second highest rating any Marvel movie has ever had is Jon Favreau’s Iron Man that came out in 2008. The movie got a 94% rating. Behind that stands James Mangold’s Logan at 93%. Then come in Joss Whedon’s Avengers which came out in 2012 tied with Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming and Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok at 92% rating. Both these movies came out just last year.

More reviews are yet to come in for Black Panther but the rating will still not drop down to less than 95% for sure, and Black Panther will remain as the highest rated Marvel and MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ticket Presales Passed All other Superhero movies

When the ticket Presales started, the movie analysts saw Black Panther earning a very good $90 Million within the first week of its release. As time passed, the analysis rose to $115 Million. After that it was projected to beat Deadpool and make more than $132 Million within the first weekend and became the movie with the highest grossing opening weekend in the month of February.

The number just kept op growing as the reports after that stated more than $150 Million, then $155, then $160, and now finally, the analysis of the earning the movie will get within the first week stands at more than $170 Million. The previous record holder of highest presales ticket selling was with Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as it earned a huge $166 Million.

Box office is just too unpredictable as the first Avengers movie was expected to make around $90 Million and ended up making a mighty $207 Million within the first 3 days. Black Panther can also do the same thing as no one knows exactly how much money the King of Wakanda is going to cash in the first weekend. If the anticipation is so huge, the result has got to be even better. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.

The IMAX Ticket presales are ahead of all other Marvel Films

The King of Wakanda will also now be called the true King of Box Office as the movie is already doing wonders and it is already leading with the normal ticket presales as mentioned above, and along with that, it is also in the lead for IMAX ticket presales.

It has been revealed by Fandango that Black Panther is currently outpacing every Marvel movie for IMAX ticket presales. The movies here also include all the Non-MCU Marvel movies as well. A lot of people are interested in watching the movie in IMAX 3D, and by the looks of what the movie is presenting, more and more people should try to go for it in IMAX only.

Here’s the official Synopsis for the movie:

“After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.”

Black Panther opens on February 16. Don’t miss this one at any cost. If there is a reason you need to check out this one, well, the sixth Infinity Stone which has not yet been found is hidden somewhere in the Kingdom of Wakanda under the protection of Black Panther and this movie will perfectly set the stage for the ultimate comic book extravaganza “The Infinity War” which will be released on May 3, 2018.
