Recently, it was announced that the MCU has 20 projects which are currently under development post-Avengers 4. Till mid-2019, Disney is going to fully acquire 21st Century Fox so the Marvel is going to have the full comic book roster including the X-Men and the Fantastic Four to work with. So here is the list of our guesses and predictions for the 20 movies that will come out after Avengers 4.
The Sequels
Well, Marvel does have a trend of making trilogies so probably all the new heroes that have gotten and are going to get a solo movie before Avengers 4 will go up to 2 more sequels to form a Trilogy.
So, if we put in a count, we get- Spider-Man Homecoming 2 & 3, Black Panther 2 & 3, Doctor Strange 2 & 3, Captain Marvel 2 & 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. To unify all these, we might get a New Avengers movie. The total comes up to 11 movies which are more or less confirmed.
Namor the Sub Mariner
Namor is a big name in the Marvel comics and fans have been going crazy to see something related to him in the MCU ever since an Easter Egg was shown in Iron Man 2.
DC will already have Aquaman out by then, so it will be Marvel’s turn to explore Atlantis within MCU, so Namor is a must!
The Fantastic Four
Well, finally the rights have reverted back to Marvel, so they will surely want to get this one right and out as soon as possible. It’s win-win for everyone at Fox can’t be trusted with F4 anymore after a major debacle last time.
Marvel’s first Superhero Family will certainly get a movie and it may even come out before the sequels that have been mentioned above.
X-Men
The MCU will figure out a way to introduce the mutants into the MCU pretty soon. And then it won’t be much longer when an X-Men movie set up in the MCU will be announced as well.
There would be various ways to get the X-Men in MCU and this will be a dream come true for fans who have been waiting to see this for a long time.
Nova
Guardians of the Galaxy introduced the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are literally so many things to be explored in the cosmic area and one of the prime choices that Marvel will have for a cosmic movie would surely be Nova.
Nova is a fan favorite character and it has been in demand for a long time. So this could be the perfect time to introduce him.
Wolverine
As soon as the merger goes through, one of the first things that the MCU would do is surely recasting Wolverine because he is a giant that the MCU would want to put in play as soon as possible.
So, Wolverine would surely get a solo movie with a new young actor and the intention may be to start a new trilogy. Hugh Jackman was in favor of roping in Tom Hardy for the role and it’s certainly would be a great choice.
All female team-up movie
Since so many new characters will be in Marvel’s hands after the merger, a Black Widow solo movie might be out of the cards. But recently, an idea of an all-female team-up movie was teased by Tessa Thompson and it has huge chances of happening in the coming future.
The movie could introduce She-Hulk, have other characters like Black Widow, Valkyrie, Captain Marvel, Scarlett Witch, Gamora and many more. Tessa explained how the idea came into being, here’s what she said:
“I think in that group was Brie Larson, myself, Zoe Saldana, although she ran off to the bathroom, I think, so she came midway through the pitch but she had been in the rev-up to it. Scarlett Johansson. Pom Klementieff and Karen Gillan, who are both in the Guardians movies. Yeah, I think it was that group. We were just sort of all in a semicircle talking, and it just came up, because none of us really worked together – well, I suppose Zoe, and Karen, and Pom – and wouldn’t it be nice if we could all work together?”
She added:
“And we were sort of speculating on their ways in which it might happen in Infinity War, or might not happen. And we thought, ‘No, we should just have a whole movie where we know every day we’re going to arrive and get to work together.’ So we just ran right up to Kevin Feige and started talking about it.”
She praised Kevin Feige for being open-minded about the idea and said:
“That’s the thing that’s so fantastic about Kevin is you always get general interest from him. At least when you start speaking, and then you might get 10 minutes in, and you sense that maybe something is not as exciting. But no, he’s really open to collaboration and wants to hear what we’re interested in.”
Doctor Doom
Victor Von Doom is the biggest villain in the Marvel comics. It is such a pity that Fox has managed to screw this character 3 times.
But not anymore as Marvel would surely get one of their biggest characters right on the big screen and we as fans deserve to see that happen.
Adam Warlock
We now know that Adam Warlock does exist in the MCU as we saw his cocoon in Guardians Vol. 2 towards the post-credits scene. Warlock is too big of a character and if he does not get a proper introduction in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he will surely get a solo movie to do that.
James Gunn, Director of Guardians of the Galaxy said that he had to fight Marvel studios for Adam Warlock’s appearance. Here’s what he said:
“I had to fight for Adam in the post-credits sequence. Because I really thought that’s where that should go. And I thought one of the main reasons to have the Sovereign in the movie was to give audiences the hint that Adam Warlock is coming. That was one of the reasons for them to exist. And I wrote that post-credits sequence in the first draft of the script. And then there were a lot of questions about whether or not we should put that in there, because people were going to expect Adam Warlock in Infinity War. So one of the things I promised, which I do all of the time on Twitter, is letting everyone know that Adam Warlock is not going to be in Avengers 3 or 4. It’s just not going to happen. Because I didn’t want people to have false expectations of what they thought was going to happen with Adam.”
A Giant Crossover Event
Just like Infinity War and Avengers 4, we will surely get a giant Crossover event of all the characters which will be existing in the MCU at that point in time, facing a common enemy.
And this will bring in all the characters including the X-men, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, Deadpool, Wolverine, Namor, Guardians, Nova and Adam Warlock. This will define another decade of movies.
So this is our prediction. Tell us what other characters and movies do you think could be added and altered on this giant roster.
