The Mad Titan’s Giant Ship In Infinity War Has Been Revealed

The Avengers: Infinity War will be the culmination of all the hard work that the Marvel Studios has been doing since a decade. The Marvel Cinematic Universe began with Iron Man in 2008. With more than a dozen movies under its belt, the most profitable franchise in the history of the Movie industry has grown into a multi-headed beast.

A superhero shared the universe, a figment of imagination and every Comic Book Nerd’s and Hollywood writer’s wet dream about a decade ago is now no more just a dream. The Marvel Cinematic Universe did not just create a universe where different superheroes star not only in standalone but also share screen space for larger events, the MCU also set up a precedent for others to follow.

The DCEU and The upcoming Sony’s Spider-Verse are the prime examples of what happens in Hollywood when you try and lead by example.

The MCU was the first but it won’t certainly be the last. Different production houses who once believed a superhero universe that could act as a banner for launching consecutive movies could only be a pipedream now are on the path to formulating their own.

The DC Extended Universe was the second to follow up and it has become the single most capable opponent to rival the MCU in terms of sheer popularity and fan following alone. The Spider-Verse is still at a nascent stage but it has the potential to become the third leg of the Holy Trinity of the Hollywood Superhero fiction genre.

Avengers: Infinity Wars

But it is the MCU that has managed to grow roots the deepest. Its foundations are rock solid and all its movies are universally acclaimed. What began with Phase 1 with Iron Man will soon lead to the much anticipated Avengers: Infinity War in Phase 3 of the MCU. Thanos is here ladies and gentlemen. And he wants his stones back.

The Mad Titan up until now had only been teased via extremely short appearances throughout the MCU movies that have graced the theaters yet. But Infinity War is here to change that.

It will pit the Avengers against the combined might of the megalomaniac Thanos and his dreaded Black Order Forces as the latter come to Earth in search of the powerful Infinity Stones. Thanos aims to rule all of creation. For that, he needs to possess all the six Infinity Stones of Space, Power, Time, Reality, Mind and Soul. The five of them have been discovered but Soul gem is still to be found (speculated to be hidden in Wakanda).

Here’s what the Collector said about Infinity stones:

“Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots… Infinity Stones.”

Thanos is a fearsome villain, one of the strongest in the Marvel Universe. The only thing that precedes his strength is his reputation of committing evil. He is the bad guy after all. You do not portray a bad guy without a sinister ride. Thanos has one in Infinity War too. And now we bring you a closer look of his ship.

A new image has appeared in the internet that brings us a detailed view of Thanos’ Ship called The Sanctuary 2. The Ship made its first appearance in Thor: Ragnarok at the very end of the movie as it dwarfed the Asgardian Refugee ship while Thor and Loki look in awe.

Take a look yourself:

So if the ship is called the Sanctuary 2, then what about Sanctuary 1?? Sanctuary is the base of operations for Thanos and his forces. It was the meeting point for Nebula, Thanos, Ronan and the other in GOTG Vol. 1. The Sanctuary 2 is a mobile fortress that just so happens to be the base of operations for the bad guys in the upcoming Infinity War movie.

“I’m most excited for the audience to learn about Thanos” Joe Russo said while answering fan questions. “I think he’s a very interesting and complex villain. That’s why I like him. That’s why I’m excited for the audience to learn about him. I think his motivations, albeit psychotic, are compelling. And I think that in a lot of ways this is his movie, so it’s going to be very interesting to see how people respond to Thanos in the film.”

Anthony Russo said that he has drawn inspiration from heist movies for Avengers Infinity War. Here’s what he said to CNET:

“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.

The actor who portrays Thanos in the movie, Josh Brolin, is also super excited to essay the Mad Titan on screen:

Avengers: Infinity War

I can’t tell you definitively, but how I feel right now and what I’ve spoken to the Russos about and Feige, absolutely,” Brolin said. “It actually more than pulls off, and I think what they’re coming up with based on what I’ve done, I think is next level”

The Marvel Studios has so far released three official synopsis of the movie. Here’s the description:

Synopsis 1:

“Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos.
