The Avengers have pushed the valuation of Marvel Studios to almost legendary status. A company on the brink of bankruptcy has become the owner of World’s most profitable franchise in the history of Hollywood.
Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy – all used to be B and C-List superheroes in mainstream Marvel Comics universe. But now they have become a household name. They have made the Marvel Cinematic Universe a cultural phenomenon like none other. But none has had an impact as great as Tony Stark aka the Invincible Iron Man.
Robert Downey Jr. could be more or less credited with helping skyrocket the Marvel banner under Disney Studios. No one ever thought an extremely less known comic book superhero like Iron Man could ever become so famous. No one anticipated Robert Downey Jr. could be so spot on as the sarcastic and not so humble billionaire playboy with a heart of gold.
Defying all expectations, Iron Man became Marvel’s flagship superhero of the MCU banner. Iron Man is still considered as one of the greatest superhero origin movies of all time alongside Wonder Woman, Man of Steel and Batman Begins.
And all that oomph and style that Tony has garnered in his 10 years as Marvel’s poster child is going to go through the roof as we give you the next big piece of information. You all know Tony is nothing without his suit. Well, he may be a genius and billionaire but a genius-billionaire does not necessarily save the planet. It is the astonishing piece of tech he wears that does.
The Iron Man suit has become a staple of superhero fiction. Many won’t know who Tony Stark is. Everyone will know when we say, Iron Man. The Armor has become a global icon and Marvel Comics’ personal signature of awesomeness.
RDJ has appeared in half a dozen Marvel movies until now. Every time he sports a different form of the Iron Man Armor. The Mark 1, The Mark 5, The Mark 7, the Extremis Armor – are all his inventions. And they have kicked ass every time.
As the movies progressed, Iron Man started wearing armors that had much more lethal and deadly weaponry as the standard of threats kept increasing exponentially. Avengers: Infinity War will see the heroes face the greatest threat to the universe yet.
Thanos is about to wreak total havoc on Earth. Tony needs his best of the best Iron Man suit to take on the Mad Titan. And by the looks of it, it looks like he will. Tony Stark is about to wear a stunning new armor in Avengers Infinity War that will have insane new abilities.
The promo art revealed for Avengers: Infinity War shows Tony alongside the Avengers, Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange. The picture shows Tony sporting an armor with weaponry never seen before in the history of the MCU.
The armor could be seen with new propulsion system mounted on its shoulder plates. They are probably there to help Tony Stark travel through the Vacuum of space. Thanos is not an Earth-based villain.
His threat is cosmic level. That just means the heroes won’t have time to continue the fight on Earth. They will have to move to outer space to face him and his Black Order.
He has gone through dozens of armors in his life that were made for special circumstances or for fighting against a special enemy. It’s pretty obvious that Iron Man armor will need a major upgrade as his suits don’t operate in space. In Avengers, we saw how Iron Man saved the day by carrying missile on his shoulders away from Earth’s orbit but he barely survived.
Over the years, the suit has had major upgrades in terms of technology. In comics, Tony Stark was given the power to forge weapons using Asgardian resources. He devoted himself to learn about Uru, forged 8 weapons from the materials and infused his Extremis armor with the divine will of Odin, which is the same stuff used to make Thor’s hammer Mjolnir.
Recently, Robert Downey Jr. on his official Facebook page teased an enhanced Iron man suit embedded with Asgardian armor. Clearly, he would need something more than a standard suit to fight Thanos in space. It’s not an official concept art but the caption under the photo reads “nobody does armor like Agar.” It seems now that all this was just a bit of trolling on the mighty fan base as the movie was still one year away from release.
The official concept art of Iron Man armor for Avengers Infinity War has been released and it’s “Prime” armor from the comics. It’s one of the most powerful suits he has ever worn as it can change shape and form. There are energy weapons loaded in its arsenal with bup-flap wings for better flight. This allows Tony Stark to use his hands for weapons.
It looks like the armored avenger has come prepared to the fight. This new armor has sophisticated systems and processes made of advanced alien technologies that could help Tony travel space and return in time.
The armor also has two energy emitting swords that Tony holds in his hands. Close Combat will come in handy when fighting the superiorly armed and trained Thanos. Like I said, Tony is well prepared for the fight.
But this is only one promo art. The movie is still several months away and Marvel won’t just stop here with one freaking shirt. Expect a ton of merchandise to be released before Infinity War hits the theaters. LEGO sets, toys, and other clothing items will be coming to stores soon. The hype is real, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Tony Stark made this suit when he was totally frustrated so he combined all his previous abilities into one model from nanotech to stealth to Hulk buster at will. Here’s what concept artist cum designer Brian said:
“I kind of think of the armor as a super hi-tech Lego set; it can expand into a giant Hulkbuster or contract to a skin-tight ninja-like stealth suit. It can go underwater or launch into orbit.”
The official description of the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
Marvel Studios has recently released a brand new synopsis of the movie:
“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely have written the screenplay. Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 4th, 2018.
