Avengers: Infinity War Promo Art Reveals Captain America’s Stunning New Suit

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given rise to several poster children/ superheroes that have become household names later. Captain America is one of them and he is needed for what is about to come. He is the most principled, revered, patriotic super-soldier that mankind has at its disposal.

He is a man of courage and integrity, someone who will put his country and team first before himself. He has shown his valour and grit on the field so many times. It’s only because of him that Nazis could be defeated and Red Skull’s evil plans did not materialize. He has saved countless civilians during his service to the country.

Steve Rogers is the reason the Avengers became a team rather than a ragtag group of lone wolves who only looked out to meet their own ends. It was Cap’s leadership that knit the team together and saved the world not just once, but twice.

Both Loki and Ultron have tasted defeat because Steve Rogers was there to lead the Avengers into making them. There was nobody but Rogers who knew how to tap the potential and abilities of fellow Avengers and motivate each of them to put their best foot forward no matter how dangerous the adversary is.

Captain America has always been part of the good guys. And by good guys, we mean S.H.I.E.L.D. So when events of Civil War and Winter Soldier came to pass, Captain America found himself questioning his own side’s ideal.

The very red, white and blue he wore with so much pride into battle, it was the very thing that made him question himself. What was he fighting for? Who was he fighting for? Why is he fighting?

These questions ultimately led to Cap abandoning the suit. The classic Captain America suit will no longer be featured in Avengers Infinity War anymore. The suit that Cap wears in the Infinity War trailer is called the Nomad suit which, in the comics, was worn by the Cap when he no longer had faith in the American Dream.

Some time ago, the poster of Avengers Infinity War was released that showed Steve Rogers sporting a beard and he has worn a different costume which is not the usual attire of Captain America. It was later revealed that he is wearing Nomad suit from comics.

The directors of Avengers Infinity War Russo Brothers told Huffington Post that dropping his shield “is him letting go of that identity. It’s him admitting that the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.”

At the end of Civil War, Tony Stark forced Rogers to give up his Shield as he does not deserve it and it was made by his father Howard Stark. Steve obliged and left the Shield before leaving. So the question now is – After falling out with Tony in the Civil War, Will Cap come to aid of S.H.I.E.L.D and people ever, and if yes then how will he fight the Mad Titan?

Well, according to the poster, he will take on the new alias Nomad which he adopted during 1970’s in Marvel comics. So yes, he is fighting against Thanos and his ruthless alien invaders but as someone else. He still loves his country and people so he can’t possibly leave them in the lurch while Thanos is destroying the very foundations of it, but also he can’t go back to being an “Avenger” again.

It is speculated that Infinity War will feature an iconic comic-book moment i.e when Thanos is just slaughtering armies and heroes left and right, it will be Cap who will look him in the eye.

And new promo art reveals the best look of that suit as of yet that the fans have been able to feast their eyes on. The new art shows Vision, Hulk, Gamora, Captain America, Black Widow, Star-Lord, Black Panther, Spider-Man and Captain America. The trailer only showed a portion of Cap’s suit since it was mostly covered in shadow.

The new suit still has a version of the red, white and blue. But Cap’s chest is missing the star and the sleeves are rolled up. The boots he is wearing are now brown. Captain America does not look like a super soldier. He looks more like a mercenary for hire running from place to place. He looks more like a… Nomad.

Of course, Captain America’s signature weapon – the Shield, is missing in action. The art does not show Steve Rogers holding it anymore. After the events of Civil War, Captain America left the Shield behind after his fight with Tony Stark.

He then took his team to the nation of Wakanda and saved them from legal persecution. Captain did leave Tony a way to contact him if things ever went too south. He now will be leading the ‘Secret Avengers’ team in the fight against Thanos in mainland Wakanda.

Will the Nomad suit feature add functionalities and features? Will Cap ever wear his old suit again? Will Cap sacrifice himself for the greater good? If yes, then who will take the mantle of Captain America?

Here’s the official description of the movie:

“Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment”.

The old synopsis of the Avengers Infinity War is as follows:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain”.

Marvel Studios recently released a new synopsis for the movie:

“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

The Russo brothers Anthony and Joe Russo are directing the film, which is produced by Marvel boss Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely have written the screenplay.

Can Earth’s mightiest heroes and Guardians be able to save the planet from Thanos and Black Order’s destruction? Will Thanos become the ultimate ruler of the Cosmos? Our guess is as good as yours. Stay tuned to find out. Avengers: Infinity War will hit the theaters on May 4, 2018.
