Avengers saw Earth’s mightiest heroes face off against Loki and the Chitauri armada as they try to invade Earth through a portal in Central Manhattan. Avengers 2 saw the rise of Ultron, who rose up in arms against his creator Tony Stark and his fellow Avengers and with the help of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and almost destroyed them.
The Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 will see the culmination of all events that had been planned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since. The Mad Titan Thanos and his Black Order will set foot on Earth in search of the sacred stones of limitless power to help Thanos rule the cosmos.
The long-awaited trailer of Avengers Infinity War released online and created flutter on the internet. The trailer has high-octane action, deep emotion and comic-book vibe all rolled into one. It broke the all-time record for the maximum number of views in first 24 hours of release.
The scenes are just breathtaking, epic in scale that could even result in Avengers Infinity War becoming the highest grossing movie ever given the massive reception it has got from Marvel fan community and comic-book lovers in general.
The “Nomad” Cap is leading his new team of superheroes and warriors at Wakanda to prevent Black Order (Children of Thanos) from possibly getting their hands on the sixth Infinity Gem. The Hulkbuster suit making a comeback, Spider-Man donning Iron Spider suit, Thor meets Guardians of the Galaxy and Thanos is stealing Infinity stones one by one and lands on Earth through a portal similar to the one used in “The Avengers” by Loki.
The Infinity Gems are the most powerful objects in the entire MCU. Each of them individually is powerful but collectively they can rewrite reality and destroy worlds. There are five Infinity stones that have been introduced but soul stone is yet to be discovered.
The Mad Titan intends to locate all the Infinity gems, assemble them to create an all-powerful Infinity gauntlet, cause a worldwide destruction that will force Team Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy to join forces and fight against the mad Titan.
Avengers 4 is rumored to be based on Marvel’s Secret Invasion arc. There have also been rumors of Avengers: Infinity war being a two-part storyline – Avengers: Infinity War will start with Avengers 3 and end with Avengers 4.
The story is still not confirmed. The synopsis may be an enigma now but we have one sweet piece of news to soothe the marvel fans ears – the new set photos reveal that the past of the superheroes will play a big role in the upcoming Avengers 4 movie.
It seems time will not be an object the Avengers will be able to use to their advantage. Time is not going to on the Earth’s mightiest heroes’ side.
Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier in the movie. A former hydra assassin, Bucky is now on the good guys’ team after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. He is now an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans already love him. But now they will love him even more.
Sebastian Stan took to Instagram to share a set photo for Avengers 4 that would open a lot of old wounds for Tony Stark and Captain America. Although his Insta post must have been an attempt at making a pass at the events of Captain America: Civil War, it did help startup churning the rumor mill.
Sebastian Stan post was supposed to take at the meme-worthy Captain America: Civil War’s ‘December 16, 1991’ reference, the post has a background location that will finally make a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The photo shows something that we have not seen in the newest Marvel movies. The last time we see these armors was in Iron Man 3 as the armors were picked off one by one as the Mandarin’s forces tore the mansion they were housed into bits.
But the photos show Stan in front of an Armor Gallery with Tony’s Iron Man suits – Mark II, Mark V and Mark VII to be precise. Presumably, the rest of his armors are in perfect condition as well.
Unless Tony has Dumbledore’s magic wand and a book of spells to revere time to back as it was, the only logical conclusion thus is – Flashback Sequence.
The set photo and the background reveal that Sebastian Stan will act as Bucky Barnes and have a major role in Tony’s life in a never before seen scene from the past, something that the movies have not shown us yet.
There were already rumors that a specific Avengers 4 scene was set in the fires of World War 2. Another scene showed the Actress Evangeline Lily aka MCU’s The Wasp featuring a haircut similar to the one she did in the first Ant-Man movie.
Now with Tony’s Sacred Hall of Armors making a comeback, we now know for sure the flashbacks will play a major role in the next Avengers installment.
The Avengers will travel back in time, either physically or metaphorically. How will they do that? Maybe the infinity stones come into the picture here?
But what happens after that? What happens after Thanos has been defeated and the heroes can finally breathe a sigh of relief? What will the next iteration of Avengers – the untitled Avengers 4 movie, be about? More importantly, how will the story move forward after the Infinity War saga?
Kevin Feige was asked about Avengers 4, he did’nt reveal much but confirmed that Avengers 4 will mark the end of a distinct period in Marvel’s journey and beginning of a new chapter. He said:
“Avengers 4 bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale. There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting.”
This doesn’t mean that Marvel will stop making movies, in fact, 20 movies are already in the pipeline beyond phase 3. But most of the major actors who have dominated phase 1-3 will end their journeys, they will either be killed off and pass on the mantle to their successor.
He eloquently summed up the entire`approach towards comic-books and their adaptations on big screen. He said:
“I think you look at the comics as a guide, some titles get rebooted or re-launched, but the narrative exist on a never-ending continuum”.
