10 Best Things That Happened In Game Of Thrones S07 E05 “Eastwatch”

The 5th episode of Game Of Thrones Season 7 was not as happening as people would have expected. But, very subtly it managed to put in so many things in motion that will be really epic in the future. We have come so close to the finale (and I still can’t believe it), and there are only 2 episodes left. Eastwatch gave a lot of amazing tidbits for the upcoming episodes of the show. Here is a list of all the good things that happened in Eastwatch.

Bronn and Jaime Live

The previous episode of Game Of Thrones ‘Spoils of War’ left us all on a big cliff-hanger where we were uncertain about Jaime and Bronn’s fate since we saw them drowning in water as Bronn had saved Jaime from Drogon and dived straight into the river. Everyone thought about what will happen to them but as it turns out, the 5th episode took no time in answering that, as right in the start of the episode, they were shown alive and away from danger.

Cercie’s Big Reveal

The episode of Game Of Thrones dropped a big bomb on Jaime as he was trying to talk Cersei out of the war and then Cersei gave him a new reason to stay in the war but this time, the War will be fought like their father Tywin used to do it, fighting it by playing the real game of thrones. Just when we thought that the seeds for Jaime and Cersei’s separation have been sowed, they came even closer as Cersei told Jaime that she is going to have yet another child and it was Jaime’s.

Tyrion is back to drinking

Tyrion drinks and knows things. We have not seen him drinking a lot this season but now we saw him back at it. He knows that Daenerys is not taking a lot of his council since that has not been very profitable for her. He right now still believes in her but his conscience has now come to life. As soon as his drinking game starts, he is able to dominate any situation in which he is. So, it is good to see that Tyrion is back at it.

Things getting tense at Winterfell

Till now we have seen Arya right on Petyr Baelish’s ass as she does not trust him. Now as it turns out, Baelish already knew about Arya and has now set up a ploy to turn the sisters against each other, which probably his last smart and manipulative game as when the Starks unite, Baelish will have to run for his life.

Jorah comes back to Danny

Daenerys had ordered Jorah to find a cure for his Greyscale disease and return to her as she is in need of his service. Jorah as we last saw him in Citadel did manage to get himself cured with the help of Samwell Tarly. In this episode we see him reunite with Dany and she is very happy to see him.

Tyrion and Jaime’s Reunion

Oh, and another reunion! We came close to getting this last week – they shared a scene, but didn’t actually meet – and the show delivers here, with Bronn tricking Jaime into meeting with his brother. Although the two parted on good terms, the fact Tyrion then went and killed their father did not play well with Jaime. Even though there was bitterness in Jaime’s mind we still saw signs of Brotherly bond underneath as he allowed Tyrion to say what he wanted to.

Blood of The Dragon

Earlier in the episode, we saw Drogon actually allowing Jon Snow to touch him. But the big reveal comes later in the episode when we see Sam and Gilly talking to each other. Gilly keeps asking questions to Sam about the book she is reading while Sam is pretty annoyed. And suddenly she just so happens to mention a Prince ‘Raggar’ having an annulment and marrying someone else. Sam ignores it but, now the show has finally confirmed the long going theory that Jon is a legitimate son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark as they were married, and he is a true heir to the Iron Throne.

Gendry Returns

One of the biggest mysteries after “What happened between Podrick and those girls” was where the hell is Gendry,? Is he still growing? What exactly happened to him? Well, this episode has answered all these questions as Gendry came back to Kings Landing and has been arming the Lannister army ever since. Now on his return, he has moved on with Ser Davos and went past the great wall along with John Snow and others in order to catch a live White Walker and he will be fighting as a Baratheon.

Suicide Squad
Game Of Thrones

At the end of the episode, we see Jon Snow leading a team up north, past the wall in order to catch a White Walker. The Magnificent 7 of Westeros have banned together to form an Allstar-Team, a Suicide Squad consisting of Jon Snow, The Hound, Tormund, Thoros of Myr, Gendry, Jorah Mormont and Beric Dondarrion. These all are the favorites of Westeros and all of these bad ass characters have banned together.

A start to many things

Even though it was the fifth episode, it still felt like a premiere episode as there was so much happening in it and it gave the beginning to the great war as Jon is leading a team past the wall to hunt and capture a live Wild Walker, there are tensions between the Stark sisters, Tyrion is probably back in the game and Sam might find something important.
