5 Game of Thrones Dead Characters Still Alive In The Books

Game of Thrones is a show that sure has a lot of killing in it. Though George R. R. Martin is the actual killer, now since the show is ahead of the books, the producers Dan and Dave to have a big hand in killing off big characters. Here is a list of some characters who George hasn’t yet killed by Dan and Dave have:

Barristan Selmy

Sir Barristan Selmy is dead on Game of Thrones TV Show

Barristan Selmy is one of the most important characters in the books. He served as the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard at the time of Mad King as well as Robert Baratheon and was an exceptional swordsman and an honourable man. He then served Dany as the ‘Hand of the Queen’ He was needlessly killed foolishly by the hands of the Sons of the Harpy.

Catelyn Stark

Catelyn Stark’s death was one of the most iconic deaths on the show. The mother of the Stark kids died in the episode “the Red Wedding” It was one of the best episodes yet, but no matter how good a death it was, Catelyn is very much alive in the books, she returns as Lady Stoneheart with the help of the Lord of Light, which was teased and theorized fir the show as well but didn’t make it to the screen.

Mance Rayder

Mance Rayder was the one who brought together all the wildling tribes, and he when loses the battle it is Stannis who sets him up on fire, just as he does in the show. It is just that in the books that is another wildling that just looks like Mance, because of some magic is done by the Red Woman.

Shireen Baratheon

While in the show, Shireen dies, creating a heart-wrenching moment where we saw Stannis light her daughter up as an offering to the Lord of Light, in the books actually Shireen and her mother both are alive and well at Castle Black and even Stannis is still days away from attacking Winterfell.

Jojen Reed

Jojen Reed, the brother of Mera and Bran’s accomplice when the three along with Hodor are going to see the Three Eyed Raven. He is actually the one who taught Bran about his powers in the start. After reaching the place where the Raven is, he is stabbed in the gut by Whites, after which his sister slits his throat, in order to spare him pain, after which, Leaf one of the ‘Children of the Forest’ throws a bomb at him so that he doesn’t return as a White.
