10 Most Epic Insults In Game of Thrones
A really well-written show, Game of Thrones has its fair share of great moments. Be it the fights, the humor, the sarcasm or the heart-wrenching moments. Also what the show is full of, is SASS. Nope, we aren’t talking about Lyanna Mormont but says in general, be it the witty one-liners or Tyrion talking to anyone. Here are some great insults that were delivered by the characters on the show.
Tyrion To Cersei
In Season 2 of game of Thrones when Cersei is mentally worked up and expresses herself being under pressure, Tyrion passes a not so subtle remark on her siblings about their incest.
Cersei: It’s all fallen on me
Tyrion: As has Jaime repeatedly, according to Stannis Baratheon.
Cersei To Robert
We clearly have seen Cersei being jealous of her husband, the king of the 7 Kingdoms, Robert Baratheon and his hand Eddard Stark’s friendship, as he repeatedly kept Ned’s opinion and interest above his wife. In one such interest she says:
Cersei to Robert: I’m sorry your marriage to Ned Stark didn’t work out. You seemed so good together.
Cersei To Loras
When Cersei and Loras are engaged and are soon to be married, both have absolutely no interest in marrying each other, Loras still being chivalric goes to her for a small talk and well, the burn that she gave him could be smelt even in High Garden:
Loras: My father once told me…
Cersei: Nobody cares what your father once told you.
Dario About Greyworm
Well, this could be a sign of respect or maybe not. When Greyworm is healing from the wounds that he endured and is standing in front of his queen, willing to go on a conquest for her, Dario does some great wordplay, of course on Grey worm’s anatomy:
His statement about him is “He’s the toughest man with no balls I ever met.”
Jaime To Brienne
What is sadder than being insulted is being insulted by the person whom you love. One sided love obviously. This happened when Brienne and Jamie were on their happy trip, and Brienne being Brienne was boring him to which the Kingslayer replied:
Has anyone ever told you you’re as boring as you are ugly?
Cersei about Pycelle
Okay, Grand Maester Pycelle would have been an important figure in his day, but now, the not so old Pycelle is not much of use to anyone. And after Cersei found her new friend, Qyburn, there was absolutely no use for Pycelle. Hence she once said:
The man is as useless as nipples on a breastplate.
Sansa To Ramsay
Ramsay may not be the most loved character, but he too had his share of problems. He was all a good son, till sometime before the end of course, but was never really given the status of a sun by his father, Ramsay. And when he’s given, by an oath to Tommen, this is what his loving wife Sansa says to him
Ramsay: “I’ve been naturalized by a royal degree.”
Sansa: “By Tommen Baratheon? Another bastard.”
Margery To Cersei
Yeah, the Lannister drinking problem is no secret to anyone. Margery, when has taken everything from the ex-queen, her son, her post, her happiness now has new ways of giving us burns. When Cersei enters her room, she welcomes her mother-in-law by saying:
“Can we bring you anything to eat or drink? I wish we had some wine for you, it’s a bit early in the day for us.”
Tyrion To Slynt
Janos Slynt was not the most honorable member of the Nightswatch, yeah he hid in a room with Gilly when the Wildlings attacked. In the City Guard too, he was almost no good. When Tyrion insults him Slynt says:
“Are you questioning my honor?”
To which Tyrion replies:
“I’m not questioning your honor, Lord Janos. I’m denying its existence.”
And..the Best
Tyrion To Joffery
Okay, this is the best ever insult we have seen in the Game of Thrones. The best part? This one didn’t even need words:
