The Infinity gem is the most powerful objects in the entire MCU. The mad titan Thanos intends to locate all the Infinity gems, assemble them and create an all-powerful Infinity gauntlet, cause a worldwide catastrophe that will force Team Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy to join forces and fight against the mad Titan. But he is not the only one who is ever after or in possession if Infinity gems.

Beast:
The Illuminati was formed to prevent Infinity gauntlet falling into the wrong hands. Once due to Charles Xavier’s death, the gem was lost but he had told the location to Beast who took his place in the council. It was just in time to prevent destruction from the collision of two worlds.
Invisible Woman:
In Silver Surfer Vol. 3 #16, Invisible Woman was taken over by one of the gems and she came out as a dark person known as Malice.
Iron Man:
In Ultimate Comics Ultimates #27, Dark forces were trying to steal gems to take-over the world, Iron Man hid them inside his mind, Quick Silver found out and later it was surgically removed by Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.
Mr. Fantastic:
In New Avengers: Illuminati Vol 2 #2, he tried to use the powers of Infinity gems to destroy them and since he failed Illuminati was created and he got a big scolding from one of the Watchers.
Spiderman:
He joined forces with Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man and Adam Warlock to fight Thanos. He picked up the gauntlet, set the reality back to normal and still didn’t revive Uncle Ben.
Captain America:
When the two worlds were colliding, the Illuminati was confused as to who is responsible enough to wield the gauntlet. They chose Cap who fired energy at the cosmic ball coming to Earth, all gems except Time gem were shattered. As a result, the Avengers were moved through the time.
Black Panther:
He along with Namor located the hideout of Dr. Strange where he kept a fully completed gauntlet. He used it to fight Doom, won hands down and then came back in time.
