While he may be known as the father of Thor in Marvel Cinematic Universe, Odin has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in both comics and the movies. Here are five facts that you need to know about Odin:
Odin Has A Superpower Called Odin Force:
As the ruler of Asgard, Odin possesses a superpower that no one has called the Odin Force. This is a power that only came to the ruler of Asgard. The Odin Force is the most powerful magic in existence, currently possessed by Odin, king of Asgard. It flows through the Tree of Life. The Odin Force can be passed on to the new ruler of Asgard.
Odin Created Humans:
Marvel’s Odin is based off the Norse mythology which tells of the god creating human life. Just as his basis, the fictional Odin went to Aesheim to create humans. This displeased his father Bor and so Bor cursed humans with suffering.
Odin Travels The Only Way A God Should:
Odin has two very awesome means of transport. The first being Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse that can fly through the air at incredible speeds and Skipbladnir, a Viking-style longboat with enchanted sails and oars that are capable of navigating and sailing through the seas of space.
Odin Has Died More Than Once:
Although Odin is an almighty Norse God, that does not mean that he is not prone to dying. The god has died multiple times in the comics but has always come back to life because…he’s a freaking god!!!He first died in Thor #40 – By Fire Born. A part of this comic was later reprinted in Thor #1: The Death of Odin. In Thor #40 – By Fire Born, Odin died when he and Thor were fighting against Surtar.
Odin Has A Love/Hate Relationship With Jane:
While fans will agree that Thor and Jane are a match made in the Marvel Universe, that not what Odin thinks. The Norse God has often butted his head when it comes to their relationship, even convincing Loki to convince the Enchantress to seduce Thor. Odin’s biggest dick move was when he married Jane. But all these actions had repercussions. The first saw him lose his throne while Jane became Thordis.
