Will There Be A Wolverine-Deadpool Crossover Ever?

Hugh Jackman made many X-men fans heartbreak after he announced he would not be coming back after Logan. The actor decided that after many, many years of being in Wolverine’s shoes, it was time for him and his character to finally move to greener pastures (or other roles). Ryan Reynolds, however, seems to think that Jackman should not leave his Wolverine role yet.

The Deadpool star talked about his hopes for a potential Wolverine/Deadpool team up in a new film in his interview with EW:

“I want Deadpool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy.”

Deadpool and Wolverine have been featured in a movie together. The forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine that famously transformed Deadpool into a Frankenstein super soldier. The controversial move irked many fans outrage, and it did not help that the movie did not stick to the source material and was lambasted for it.

Would Jackman return for a team up? Its less than likely at this point to think the actor would change his mind. Logan’s entire marketing is around it being Jackman’s swan song. Apart from that, Fox seems to have plans for other mutants to have their day in the sun. Deadpool has emerged as an in-demand commodity this year after his blockbuster debut. And with news of the sequel finally getting somewhere with a new director, a team up might just have to be on the back burner for now.
