Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange is trending on the big screens worldwide. Created by Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in July 1963. Currently, Doctor Strange’s cinematic appearance have brought a brain-melting story by the Marvel universe. The magical and appealing portrayal of the character by Benedict Cumberbatch is an added ingredient in this Marvel recipe. His unpredictable change from being a surgeon to a superhero featured several villainous characters in his stories. So let’s check out five Doctor Strange villains who gave him a hard time.

 1) The Nameless One

The Nameless One look very weird and is quite a complex to figure out in the first sight. He first appeared in Submariner #22 in 1970 and was beaten up by Doctor Strange and Namor. Loki is one of finest sorcerers in the comic book world. And he has poked the comic book characters in many forms. He brandishes incredible powers of the god and crossed path with Doctor Strange in Strange Tales #123 in 1964. Loki took advantage of Strange’s powers in order to get Thor’s hammer. First appearing in Marvel Premiere #5 November 1972, Shuma Gorath is one of the undefeated rulers of the clique of inter-dimensional gods, Old Ones. Shuma Gorath has the potential to handle a large group of dimensions. Gorath is one of the indestructible rogues of Doctor Strange. Once Doctor Strange absorbed so much energy of Gorath that Creature of Chaos actually was merged with him.
