Avengers: Infinity War has not officially started production, yet the upcoming Marvel feature has already got a few tricks up its sleeves. Marvel’s last big release Captain America: Civil War saw more superheroes in one film than any Marvel movie made but there are speculations that Infinity War will feature multiple superheroes. Directors Joe and Anthony have already stated that they had condensed their featured heroes to at least 66 without naming which superheroes they will be. One Marvel hero who is confirmed for Infinity War is Doctor Strange.
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch spoke with Empire magazine and talked about the Sorcerer Supreme making an appearance in Infinity War. The actor does not outrightly say that he is in the film but the connotations he made astutely refer to the said movie. He discussed that there is a “logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with those of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.” The actor also added:
“To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter.”
Doctor Strange is MCU’s next release for 2016 which will introduce movie audiences to the magic and mystical side of Marvel. The character of Doctor Strange uses magic to defend the fictional city of New York against power forces from an altered dimension. The trailers released already show the mind-bending aspect of the superhero’s world, so it would a good introduction for fans to get fans excited for the Doctor’s next adventure.
Avengers: Infinity Wars is supposedly based on the comic book Infinity Gauntlet which sees the Titan ruler Thanos collecting infinity stones that would help him destroy half the universe, all in the name of love. Apart from the Avengers original cast, Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Star Lord is also expected to make an appearance along with Spider-Man.
