Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D S04: What is Ghost Rider’s Curse & Future?

In the first two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D , we saw famous actor Gabriel Luna (Tony Bravo in Matador) as the most recent incarnation of Ghost rider i.e Robbie Reyes instead of Johnny Blaze. Well, it seems that Marvel has taken the right decision by introducing Ghostrider. He is a powered person who uses his terrifying powers to help innocent people. He is driving a car on fire and dispensing vigilante justice to criminals. He has the power to teleport himself into the car or even pilot it remotely. He can literally control the souls of people and distort their realities. He pummeled Daisy when she threatened him of causing harm to his brother. But finally, they agreed to work together against the common enemy.

We know that Ghost Rider is directly connected with the ghosts that have appeared in the show. Gabriel Luna spoke to Screenrant about the Ghost rider’s curse and his future on the show. He said:

“It’s something that was thrust upon him so he didn’t etch that code into his thing, it’s now just a bargain, it’s his deal that he made and there are things I submit in terms of my own humanity but then there’s the threat – the love for Gabe that actually keeps it and maintains a connection and actually gives Robbie this great power over the monster.”

He further added – “My little brother, he’s amazing he has an encyclopedic knowledge of this stuff and when he found out I got it he called me like crying like ‘Oh my god this is crazy.’ And then he just writes me this text that goes forever and it’s about the rider and what it is – in terms of it being a curse, in terms of it being this empowering, this blessing whatever it is. But the way he put it is, it’s [Ghost Rider’s] shadow. It’s going to always be there, you can’t shake your shadow. You just have to accept it as part of you. So these things that Robbie does, he feels as a man he feels a guilt, but you do a deal with the devil, you take what comes.”

There is also a possibility of a spin-off show based on Ghost rider in the future, similar to a solo series on Frank Castle, The Punisher on Netflix.
