The Australian actor Hugh Jackman is very excited and emotional at the same time about playing Logan/Wolverine in the final standalone movie of the franchise directed by James Mangold. He has given over a decade of his life to this character and has played it like a boss.
With the release of X-Men: Apocalypse in May, fans got a major hint about the next big baddie for the next installment of FOX/Marvel X-Men universe through the Post-credits scene. The scene continues after wolverine’s escape from the alkali lake facility during the movie. It shows that a cleanup crew is assigned for getting away with human remains left back at the facility after wolverine’s violent escape. Along with the crew, there is a mysterious black-suited man makes his way through corpses to collect the vials containing wolverines blood samples (Labeled as Weapon X) and places them in a case before slamming it shut only to reveal Essex corporation marked on the case.
With this tease, it was almost confirmed that the involvement of Minister Sinister is inevitable but to the delight of the fans, radio commentary (included in the X-men Apocalypse Digital release) by Simon Kinberg and Bryan singer substantiated the tease revealing Mister Sinister as the villain for the wolverine movie. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri, the character appeared for the first in the issue titled Uncanny X-Men #221. IGN’s list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time ranked Mister Sinister as #29.
In the comic books, Mister sinister is a genetically transformed superhuman with astounding physical abilities. His powers include manipulation of mind and he is also well versed in the practice of energy projection through telekinesis. He gained complete control of his body at the cellular level which enabled him to shape shift and regenerate stimulating his immunity to sustain vital injuries. With the ability to teleport, his expertise in the fields of biology, genetics, cloning, physics, and engineering makes him a scientific genius too. Having commanded genetic research, he is shown to go great lengths to preserve his powers through complex technological procedures such of conditioning of children’s as host to avoid his death in future. As the character portrayal of apocalypse garnered a mixed review, only time could tell whether fox would get it right with unleashing the master manipulator upon us.
