This Actor May Be The New Batman In The Flash Season 3

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not a stranger to the superhero movies. He’s played The Comedian in Watchmen and Negan on The Walking Dead, he also played Bruce Wayne’s father Thomas Wayne  at the beginning of Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. So he has his hand on the pulse of that world. The role of Thomas Wayne has been of particular interest for The Flash and Batman fans as Wayne takes on the role of Batman in an alternate reality in the comic arc known as The Flashpoint. It seems like fans were not the only one aware of this connection. Dean himself admitted to being very keen to the idea.

Morgan was asked this question at Denver’s Comic Con if he would play Flashpoint’s version of Batman for The Flash series. To which the actor responded:

“Man, I would love to play that Batman… It would be very cool. Flashpoint would be very cool.”

The CW’s show The Flash which is set to premiere its third season has admitted that the new season will be based on the comic. Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s 2011 comic book story arc Flashpoint sees Barry Allen wake up to find that his entire world has changed. His powers are gone, Thomas Wayne is Batman instead of his son and there is a war raging on between the Amazonians and the Atlanteans with no signs of a Superman in sight.

Thomas Wayne, in Flashpoint, is a different Batman than the one that fans are accustomed to. The alternate Batman happily kills, is darker and more violent and shows the Flash to the new reality he’s in by throwing a criminal off a building. Dean Morgan has been known for his dark, gritty roles so this role may be perfect for him. Hopefully, The Flash showrunners Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg will hear of Morgan’s enthusiasm and cast him into the series.
