Game of Thrones Season 6: What is Euron Greyjoy’s Masterplan?

Every GOT fan thought that maybe in season 6, Ironborne storyline will take centre-stage as one of Yara’s uncles Euron Greyjoy has been cast for the season. He is a brother of Balon Greyjoy, captain of the ship called “Silence” crewed by mutes whose tongues were ripped out by him. He is one the deadliest pirates in the whole of Westeros.

We finally saw the Kingsmoot ceremony at Iron Islands, where all the noblemen gathered to choose their next leader who would sit on Seaston chair and control a vast amount of Iron Borne resources, both fighting men, and a fleet of ships. It is much like “The Great Council” ceremony in Westeros where great Lords can jointly decide who should be the next King of the realm. At first, only Yara Greyjoy (daughter of Balon Greyjoy) came forward to stake a claim, but her claim was rejected by the elders until Theon Greyjoy (the only son alive of Balon Greyjoy) supported his sister’s claim to power. But then came to Uncle Euron Greyjoy arrived onto the scene and openly admitted before everyone that he is the one who killed Balon Greyjoy as he perceived him to be a spineless leader, slammed Theon for being captured by Ramsay and even losing his manhood.  He was soon anointed as the Captain of Iron Islands who would sit on Seaston chair. Meanwhile, Yara and Theon ran away from Iron Islands taking away a huge fleet of battle-tested ships.

He laid out his master plan in his speech to become a formidable force in Westeros which includes two things – he would marry Queen of Dragons and give her ships to march towards Westeros. And now his idea has become Yara’s master plan to win over Queen of Dragons and with her help take back Iron Islands. Moreover, it doesn’t seem that show will do a Dragon-horn plot where Euron found dragonbinder in his voyage to Old-Valyria, which could be used to control dragons. So what are his options? Let’s assume he does manage to build 1000 ships by using every piece of wood he could find on Iron Islands…then what? Will he sail to Mereen and make Daenerys submit to his will?

George R.R Martin revealed a larger plot from “Winds of Winter” where Damphair (another brother of Balon Greyjoy) has visions of Euron Greyjoy conquering Westeros, wearing a crown, sitting on the Iron throne along with Dany. Is there anything more to Euron Greyjoy that we have already seen? I hope there is.
