With the release of Dilwale and Bajirao, the quota of bollywood for this year is completed. Every year several movies. A few earn 200 Cr. and a few win hearts. Let us look back to this year’s highs. Here is a list of five Bollywood movies of 2015 that were both commercially successful and critically acclaimed . Dilwale and Bajirao is being not considered as they are fresh.

Bajrangi Bhaijan

Undoubtedly this year’s winner. With all due respect to all the other movies this movie was a class apart for the year. It hit the right chords with the audiences. Not only did it earn the highest, but also was critically appreciated by everyone. And for a change Salman Khan got tremendous applauds for his character acting. The main aspects that worked for the movie are- Salman khan, Cute Munni, the storyline, Nawaz and the climax. The climax brought tears in almost every single viewer’s eyes. Hence this has to top our list.

Tanu weds Manu Returns

We have had many sequels and then there came this. The first installment was a slipper hit, which led to the return of the team for another part. Honestly no one expected it to be this bigger a hit. It was expected to do well, the reason being Kangana and comic plot. But surely no one thought that it will cross the 200 Cr. level. The movie is a laugh riot, with good storyline and brilliant performance by the entire star cast. The audience repeatedly watched this movie making it one of the biggest grosser of the year.

Baby

This Baby did not let their parents down. The Akshay Kumar starrer thriller was both critically and commercially a success. The watertight script and smooth performance by the star cast made it a must watch. The cameo by Kay Kay Menon was very well received by everyone. The movie had a decent start and earned its position in the 100 Cr. club. The chemistry between Anupam Kherr and Akshay Kumar was the promotional stint. And it did work wonders for the film. Moreover the trust moviegoers have on Neeraj Pandey was an additional bonanza for the film. The movie was among the first major hit of the year.

Piku

When the main subject is the Father-Daughter relationship, then it is bound to connect with every audience. And the director Soojit Sircar captained the ship really well. The star cast being the cherry on top. From Irfann Khan to Deepika and our evergreen superstar Amitabh everyone played their character with ease. The film did well at box office and was much talked about socially. The music by Bengal boy Anupam Roy added the perfect tune to this cinematic journey. This movie is worth mentioning.

Talvar

Talvar has to be in the list of this year’s best movies. The movie had a slow opening but the word of mouth was so positive that audience crowded the theaters in the following weeks. Based on the true life infamous Arushi Talwar murder case, the movie stars Irfan Khan in the lead. Supported by Neeraj Kabi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sohum Shah and Tabu in pivotal roles. The treatment of the movie was more of a documentary style than just a feature film. But on a whole the movie is a fantastic watch and also left its mark at the box office collection. Making Talvar do justice to this list.
