This epic Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie was based on a Bengali novel written by Sarat Chandra chattapadhyay. Though in the original novel the two ladies “ Paro” and “ Chandramukhi” never met but Bhansali made his two leading ladies meet. In the movie both Aishwarya and Madhuri Dixit danced on the occasion of Durga Puja, with Srk intensely observing them. The sequence was a treat to the eyes.

2. Kahaani

No other Bollywood film in recent times has incorporated Durga Puja the way “ Kahaani “ did. Vidya Balan went around looking for her missing husband and in the background Kolkata readied itself for the grand festival. Even the climax was shot on the last day of the festival where Vidya killed the Villain which was quite symbolic.

3. Parineeta
