Hugh Jackman is pumped about playing Logan/Wolverine in the final standalone movie of the franchise. He has given over a decade of his life to this character and has played it like a boss. He has been eulogized by both critics and fans for his masterful performances in successive X-Men and standalone Wolverine movies. It’s almost unimaginable to even think of any other actor besides Hugh Jackman to bring this character to life on screen.
Hugh Jackman has been teasing about the film for a long time, asking fans to contribute and tell him what they would like to see in the final installment of independent Wolverine movies. Now, he has revealed important details pertaining to the project and the direction in which the film is going. There is a strong possibility of Sabretooth making an appearance as an enemy of the Wolverine. He said that there was a lot of demand to bring back Victor Creed or Sabretooth into the universe. He is a mutant possessing super human ability including rapid healing, sharp fangs, and claws, superhuman senses etc. Both Sabretooth and Wolverine were victims of super-soldier programme “Weapon X”, but Sabretooth saw Wolverine as a competitor. On one hand, Wolverine attempts to control savage superhuman mutant qualities, on the other hand, Sabretooth embraces it. He played an adversary to Wolverine in both X-Men and X-Men: Origins.
Another important detail shared by Hugh Jackman with the fans is that we might see “berserker rage” of Wolverine in the last one. It’s a mental state when Wolverine turns absolutely crazy, goes on a rampage, without thinking about the moral consequences of the act.
The final wolverine movie (untitled till now) is directed by James Mangold and is going to hit theatres on March 3, 2017.
