Cersei Lannister is a major character and probably the strongest surviving Lannister in Westeros. Her character has seen some great highs and equivalent lows too. She is smart, ambitious and intuitive. Cersei was quick to seize the throne for Joffrey after Robert’s death but eventually loses control of her vicious son who orders Ned Stark to be executed and thus a war is started.
Though she wasn’t the prime architect of the War of the Five Kings (It was Littlefinger) but she played an important role in the chain of events following Ned Stark’s death. There was a prophecy by “Maggy the Fog” regarding her children;
Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.
“Valonqar” is high Valyrian for “Little Brother”.
Joffrey and Myrcella are already dead and soon enough Tommen will die too.
She enforced the Faith Militants in King’s Landing in order to bring down the Tyrells, having Loras and Margaery arrested. This move though backfired on her and she was forced to accept the charges of adultery herself.
It is being speculated that either Asha (Yara) Greyjoy or Cersei Lannister will die in G.R.R Martin’s next book The Winds of Winter. Here are 4 people who could have possible motive and can kill Cersei in the upcoming seasons of Game of Thrones:
She has now joined the Faceless Men and Cersei is on her kill list. Nobody more than Arya Stark has a strong motive to kill Cersei. After all, Arya holds her responsible for killing her father and thus doomed her family. Arya after regaining her sight in the Temple at Braavos will begin cancelling people of her list. She is now Arya Stark again. Her list is pending and she might get on with it!
She calls him a monster. She subjected him to constant brutality and reminded him he was a dwarf, an Imp and what not. Cersei even holds Tyrion responsible for her mother’s death. After that, she plotted to kill Shae, the woman Tyrion loved. Cersei told Tywin about Shae and thus, it began. Tyrion was arrested for Joffrey’s murder and thus had to leave Kings Landing after killing Shae and his father. Tyrion hates Cersei. He once said.
I will hurt you for this. A day will come when your joy will turn to ashes and you will know the debt is paid.
Tyrion also has a strong motive to kill Cersei and avenge Shae. But he is nowhere close to killing her, so lets move on to the next and most probable candidate.
Well, it’s not hidden both Maragaery and Cersei hate each other. Cersei is Queen Mother and Margaery is the Queen. Both want to control Tommen and exercise power over Kings Landing. Only one will prevail. But this all depends on upon what happens with Margaery and the Faith Militants.
Yes, don’t be shocked. Jaime isn’t the obvious choice. He loves Cersei. Cersei loves him. But off-late, Jaime has realized how paranoid Cersei has become. Game of Thrones has this ability to give you “AWWW” moments. This could be the one. After losing her children Cersei could lose her mind and Jaime will do the toughest thing in his life by killing Cersei. Jaime Lannister saved millions of people from the Mad-King. It can be speculated that Cersei filled with rage could plan something stupid and Jaime would have no choice but to kill her.
These all are mere speculations and Cersei Lannister could survive Season 6, but Season 7 should be her last. But all things said it has to be one of these 4 to kill the Queen Mother.
