Avengers Infinity War will be upon us in less than two months and the hype for the movie keeps increasing as the movie keeps getting closer and closer. Infinity War will be the greatest character ensemble ever seen on the big screen and it will weave a powerful narrative combining all the stories told in the last 10 years, starting from Iron Man as it was the beginning of it all in 2008 when MCU made its official debut.
Till now 18 Marvel movies have been released across three phases and Infinity War is one of the greatest comic book events which will put a lid on this chapter of MCU. In the words of Marvel head Kevin Feige, Infinity War marks the culmination of everything that has happened in the different phases of MCU so far. This will bring closure to many of the unresolved plots and storylines that we have seen unfold before our very eyes. We will now see history in the making as no studio has ever attempted an ensemble movie at this scale and magnitude.
According to the reports, we are going to see over 35 superheroes of Marvel comics and 67 comic book characters in total. For the first time, we will see Mad Titan himself landing on Earth in order to steal all the six Infinity gems to assemble the all-powerful Infinity gauntlet and wield limitless, god-like powers. Everything in the MCU has led us to this moment where Avengers will face their most formidable adversary who is too powerful for them to beat. This is truly unprecedented.
Since the build-up to this movie has been so fantastic, the anticipation for the movie is huge and this movie is expected to literally break the box office, and blow the minds of all the fans and critics at the same time. This is not too far-fetched as the first official trailer that was released by the Marvel studios broke the all-time record of maximum number of online views that it garnered worldwide in just 24 hours of its release. In fact, some pundits believe that if this kind of hype translates into footfalls in the cinema halls, we may be staring at Avengers Infinity War surpassing box office collections of Avatar and becoming the highest grossing movie of all time.
Even though the digital marketing of the movie has not properly kicked in even though we are so close to its release, things still keep getting revealed by the concept arts, posters, toys and merchandise that are put out in the market. We got to know a lot of details about the movie through the merch, and many things were hinted at and even confirmed through these toys, for example, the Iron Spider Suit, Cap’s new shield, and many other things.
Now, another Infinity War Toy has possibly revealed a major spoiler about the movie, plausibly confirming a theory about the Hulk revolving around the internet for a while. In the first Avengers trailer, throughout the trailer, we saw that there were a lot of scenes having Bruce Banner in them, and towards the end in the money shot, we saw the Hulk running towards the outriders along with Cap and the rest of the Avengers & Wakandan Army.
The theory that was prevailing was that in the movie, where the Hulkbuster shows up, it is not actually Tony Stark riding the suit. As we saw in the scene where Banner confronts Natasha, the arm of the giant Iron Man suit was lying beside him, and during the actual siege, we do not see the Hulk anywhere, only the Hulkbuster, but Hulk shows up in the money shot.
So the exact theory is that Bruce Banner will be the one who will be controlling the Hulk Buster suit, as he crash-landed on Earth in Banner form, and we all know that Hulk is totally in the driver’ seat and Banner is stuck inside him, so Tony would have probably lent Banner the suit, so that he does not have to change into Hulk in order to fight the Outriders. But we see Hulk in the final shot because the Hulkbuster armor may have been destroyed, and the Outriders would have forced Banner’s hand, and he transforms into the green Goliath.
Now, a new Toy is out on the Market with the title “Hulk Out Hulkbuster.” In the Toy, we can see a Hulk action figure, and along with him, we can see the Hulkbuster armor that would actually fit Hulk within it, so it is Hulk who will be wearing the Hulkbuster. Well, this does confirm the theory that was prevailing around the net.
But, it could very well be something to lead us off the path, and at the same time, sell more of these toys. There have been other rumors that Marvel and the Russo Bros have been up to some stuff as a backup for these possible leaks, like shooting fake scenes, or maybe having something entirely different placed on the set, and selling out toys with insane possibilities just to derail our thinking into the wrong direction.
This toy release could be one of those, but it seems highly unlikely, as every other toy-related rumor has, in fact, come true. So this probably is a major spoiler reveal. We will find out soon enough when the movie comes out, or even in an upcoming trailer.
