How the Knights of Ren Became Emperor Palpatine’s Servants Revealed

If you’re a fan of Star Wars, you’re probably familiar with the Knights of Ren, a group of villains who appeared briefly in The Force Awakens but saw little action in the other two films of the Sequel Trilogy. Now that we got the knowledge of how the Knights of Ren became Emperor Palpatine’s servants.  We get to learn more about what transpired after Qi’ra took control of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate in the most recent issue of Star Wars: Hidden Empire, which is the concluding volume in the Crimson Dawn Trilogy.

Spoilers Ahead For Star Wars: Hidden Empire

She transformed them into a team of spies and came up with a strategy to prevent Darth Sidious and Vader from gaining control of the galaxy. The Fermata Cage, a relic from antiquity that could imprison a Sith Lord in a realm outside of time and space, was a key component of her scheme. Sidious and Vader were captured in a cage after being lured to Amaxine Station by Qi’ra and her allies, but there was a catch. They were impeded by the Knights of Ren!

In order to persuade the Knights to support her cause in the fight against Palpatine’s rule of terror, Qi’ra appealed to their reputation as legendary marauders of the Unknown Regions. The Fermata Cage’s unlocking key was taken by the Knights when they broke into Vader’s castle on Mustafar. When it was time to put it to use, though, the Knights grew hesitant. They debated whether or not to carry out the plan, but ultimately decided to smash the cage and release Sidious and Vader. As a result, Crimson Dawn’s downfall and Qi’ra’s defeat were guaranteed.

The Knights did in fact triumph, but it was a bittersweet victory. With Force Lighting, Palpatine destroyed the entire crew, possibly killing some of them, because he was upset with what they had done. The remainder of them, he continues, “shall serve me. You will definitely come in handy, I’m sure of it. Palpatine even calls them names as he leaves with Vader, declaring that he is finished with “small matters.”

This issue clarifies how, following the fall of the Empire, the Knights of Ren ended up serving the dark side as pawns. We learn from other Star Wars stories that they eventually worked for Palpatine’s Sith cult and his Snoke avatar before being led by Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, who killed Ren and took over. Despite the fact that their story has been told, it appears that they will always be relegated to the franchise’s periphery.

In conclusion, if you’re a fan of Star Wars, you should definitely check out Hidden Empire 5, which is currently available from Marvel Comics. This page contains an exciting read that fills in some of the story’s gaps about the Knights of Ren and explains how they came to be the dark side’s lapdogs.
