Thanos dark childhood secret:

If you might have noticed by now, Thanos has gotten his hands dirty so many times in the MCU. He has fought Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman, Doctor Strange and so many other superheroes from the Avengers and beyond in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we have lost count. But recent news in the fan circles that is gaining traction is the Mad Titan has a sadistic fetish of choking his victims by grappling their necks. While that might sound hilarious to many, there is a darker side to that story that nobody but the most ardent of fans knows. For the people who don’t have an idea of what we are talking about, get ready to be surprised and saddened at the same time.

Thanos Dark Childhood Secret

Before we move into the crux of the storyline, we have to set a premise. Thanos is a powerful being who hails from a planet called Titan. He belongs to a race of beings called the Eternals. The Eternals were created by the Celestials, a race of cosmic beings that act as judges. Jury and executioner for entire civilizations! If they deem a world unworthy of a chance to continue further, they will destroy it without any remorse and let other sentient life forms take their place. The Celestials were interested in the superhuman capability of early humans. They took certain specimens of early cavemen and used their hyper-advanced technology to accelerate their evolution. And thus, the superhuman race of Eternals was formed.

The Eternals were blessed with longevity, endurance, flight, strength, speed and the ability to manipulate cosmic energy beyond anything the average human could ever hope to achieve or comprehend. They were seen as Gods amongst men. But the experiment that created the Eternals also created another race – the Deviants. The Deviants were the sworn enemies of Eternals. While the Eternals were beautiful and gifted, the Deviants were actually hideous and were blessed with only a few abilities courtesy of their intense genetic make-up that allowed for incredible mutation with each successive generation.

Eternals Details Revealed. Thanos’ Brother Have Been Cast

The Eternals and the Deviants are locked in an eternal war of dominion over Earth. Even though they are both off-shoots of humanity created by the Celestials, they have an intense and bloody rivalry.

Thanos Dark Childhood Secret

Now coming to Thanos, as you might have seen both in Infinity War and in Endgame, Thanos has tried to choke the Avengers to death on more than one occasion. And there is a specific reason why he has a tendency to do that and it is related to a traumatic memory of Thanos as a child.

MCU Phase 4 Eternals Introduced Through Multiverse

Thanos is an Eternal born with a very unique mutation. This mutation allowed Thanos to share his genetic make-up with both the Eternals and the Deviants. As a result, Thanos was a being that had the cosmic energy manipulation powers of the Eternals as well as the superhuman strength and durability of the Deviants. One of the die effects of the mutation was that Thanos looked extremely hideous. He looked so ugly and despicable that his mother, Sui-San, tried to kill him, specifically by either choking or then stabbing the new-born Thanos in his sleep. If not for his father who took pity on his child and apprehended and sedated Sui-San, Thanos would have been killed by being strangulated by his own mother.

That event somehow must have had a heavy impact on Thanos. The fact that his own mother could try to choke her son must have done quite a number on his psyche. Many times, victims of childhood trauma subconsciously remind themselves of what was done to them over and over again, driving them into madness. Thanos the “Mad “Titan regularly reminds him-self of his mother’s actions by choking his victims to death – the same way his mother tried to kill him when he was a child. While the theory does seem plausible enough, we hope it is not true. The fact that even the Mad Titan had parental issues when he was a child signifies just how relatable and depressing Thanos’ childhood must have been.
