The Batman Has Probably Cast Green Lantern Actor as Two-Face

Batman Cast Green Lantern Actor:

The cast of The Batman is coming along extremely well. Matt Reeves keeps revealing new actors that are going to join his Batman movie. And today, another great actor that we didn’t expect has been added into the ever-growing roster of the film. First, we got a big surprise with Robert Pattinson playing Young Bruce Wayne/Batman. Then he was spot on with the casting of Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. And now Matt Reeves has added Peter Sarsgard in a mystery role.

This is not going to be the first stint for Peter Sarsgard in a comic book movie. We didn’t expect him to get cast in The Batman, but yet Matt Reeves has surprised us all one more. His previous comic book movie outing was in the Green Lantern that everyone hates. He played Hector Hammond. And we can actually say that he was one of the better actors in the movie that pissed off everyone.

Batman Cast

But the one thing that still isn’t clear is the character that Peter Sarsgard will play in The Batman. Since we know that a whole Rogues Gallery with 6-7 villains is coming into play, there are a lot of options for us to guess. Rumor has it that Two-Face and Mad Hatter are going to be the other two villains that will appear in the film. So, Sarsgard could, in fact, play Harvey Dent.

Batman Cast

Aaron Eckhart showed us how Harvey Dent has the capability to prove that he is one of the best characters in the Batman Universe. Peter Sarsgard could do that as well. But he could also be playing Mad Hatter. We just can’t confirm it yet. The film will go under production in the coming months, so perhaps that is when we’d find out for sure through some set photos or other leaks.

Green Lantern Actor

Let’s just rewind and look at the rest of the actors who have been cast in the movie. Paul Dano is playing Edward Nashton, who will transform into The Riddler. Colin Farrell has been cast as Oswald Cobbelpot aka The Penguin. Geffrey Wright is playing Jim Gordon, John Turturro will play Carmine Falcone and most importantly, Andy Serkis will play the infamous butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Casts Another Villain

An entire Rogues gallery is coming in the movie as it was confirmed by Matt Reeves:

“Warner Bros. has been incredibly supportive and given me a lot of time and shared the same passion that I do for this story. There will be a Rogues Gallery. The casting process will begin shortly. We’re starting to put together our battle plan. I’m doing another pass on the script and we’ll begin some long-lead stuff to start developing conceptual things.”

Batman Cast

A while back, a few plot details surfaced on the internet and they revealed a straight up murder mystery. Here’s what those details read:

“The Batman will explore a detective case — when people start dying in strange ways, Batman must go deep into the dark world of Gotham to find clues and solve the mystery/conspiracy connected to Gotham City’s history and criminals. In the film, all of Batman’s Rogues Gallery are already out there and active, similar to the comics and animated shows/movies. The film will have multiple villains, as they are all suspects.”

The Batman

Matt Reeves wants to tell a noir Batman tale which will establish him as the world’s greatest detective. Here’s what Reeves had to say about his Noir-Batman themed story:

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

The Batman releases on June 25, 2021.
